I’ve heard that Taymor tried to pitch Disney an adaptation that was closer to the stage musical puppetry augmented by CGI, and they wanted nothing to do with it. I’d suppose part of that is that many of Taymor’s film directing efforts have bombed, and perhaps the high-profile mess of the Spider-Man musical on top of…
She’s kinda all over the place on this, since her main complaint about Solo was that her character got killed off, so she couldn’t come back for Solo 2: The Secret Origin of Han’s Pants. FWIW, Newton’s character was pretty damn awesome in Solo, right up until the point when she blew up.
IIRC, she dies in a car accident that critically injures the soon-to-be Cyborg, and she’s also seen in one or two hallucination-type scenes inside Cyborg’s head later in the movie. Newton in that role is exactly the kind of cinematic overkill Snyder loves (see also: JK Simmons as Commissioner Gordon).
I can’t comment on the actual movies quality, but I can definitely say that live action B&tB is a better idea than “live action” Lion King, because at least in B&tB, there are actual actors on screen, and thus an actual reason why you’d think that might be a good idea to exist. Live action Lion King is a situation of…
Not sure I agree. Leaving the original out there, but with your apology as a reply (which IIRC, is what Jennings did) tells the world that you take responsibility for what you said and are not trying to hide it. If you hire an intern to delete your account (or just the sketchy parts) you’re not really making the world…
So you mean you wish you were talented?
Your question might have some relevance if only the name of the movie was Steve Trevor 84....
Then again, part of what’s good about Rogue One is that, aside from Jyn and maybe Cassian, every other major character is someone we’d be interested to spend more time with. You’re right that Bohdi is a special case, though, since it seemed like they were going somewhere with him being damaged by his encounter with…
Deleted tweets are still findable, and the fact that they were deleted never convinces anyone that the person has repudiated the tweet.
Gunn got a pass? I mean yeah, he eventually got the GotG job back, but first he had a period in the woodshed I wouldn’t wish on anybody, for stuff that was clearly a poor attempt at edgy humor.
I feel your pain. I must admit that I actually liked Star Trek (2009). I’m usually pretty tolerant of the liberties Abrams takes with plot and the laws of reality. It didn’t feel like Star Trek—which usually is more contemplative and has less amusement park ride content—but I bought into the idea that they were going…
Even if the budget had stayed below $200 million, I still think that Solo’s performance would’ve been an impossible pill to swallow.
If that’s how promotions work in the Kelvin timeline, we missed out on a great end credits stinger for Star Trek (2009):
Kirk in Star Trek Into Darkness. But at least with him, they didn’t spend a whole movie trying to undo his foretold death, only for him to unceremoniously die in the next one.
If he’s going to actually do something this time, he’s welcome to the party. The problem was never his personality, it was that he was built up for absolutely no payoff.
The Gizmodo article implies that Yahya Abdul Mateen has either been cast as Morpheus or someone very much like him (bald, kung-fu training, red pill offering dude).
Absolutely nothing. I was skeptical as hell when she came on the show that it was the stuntiest of stunt casting, but she was awesome as often as TNG allowed her to be.
You may not know it because the plastic surgery is very good, but Madonna burned half his face off with acid while they were married. These days, he makes Worst Best/Best Worst decisions on a moment-by-moment basis by flipping the coin he once considered his good luck charm...
Sam managed a Freudian slip even while copy-pasting from an article. There’s no arguing he that he has “headlines” on the brain 24/7...
