I drive an ‘05 Crown Vic, if it isn’t in Park I can’t take the keys out of the ignition. I refuse to own any vehicle that doesn’t use a key, I don’t have blind trust in electronics. Just look at that story a while back about the hacked Jeeps, that will never happen to me.

There is no adavantage or disadvantage, it’s just that I have never had a car pop out of park in my 38 years of driving so I just don’t see any need to do it. I have, however, always set the parking brake on the stick vehicles I’ve owned as it’s far too easy for a stick to be knocked out of gear accidentally.
