C- is being kind. This episode was pretty bad. Might be worst of the season, although the first few episodes to start the season were dreadful as well. It’s a shame because Molly is capable of more and SNL since the start of year has put out a string of good episodes.

The original Jeannie Darcy sketch was one of Shannon’s funniest bits and absolutely brutal. They had her in a retirement home causing the residents to drop dead. I didn’t know if they ever brought her back. That was the era of bringing back characters with catch phrases no matter how belabored.

Jeannie Darcy’s first appearance was sublime. Such a perfectly realized manifestation of that 90's stand up staple. And it has never been funny since. I appreciate it’s SNL, so - take joke, repeat - but there’s no point in going back to this well other than “remember HER?!” with no additional nuance or flavor. Which,

Molly Kearney does comedy like a woman doing an impression of a man, who is himself doing a bad impression of Chris Farley.

I usually find a few things to enjoy even on a bad SNL episode, but this was miserable. The best I had was a few laughs during Weekend Update. This time, there’s no way it’s the guest fault; Molly Shannon has proven herself over a a wide range of comedies, let alone as a cast member. Frankly, a C- seems generous.

I think what was so great about this episode is that Quinta Brunson is a sketch comic herself and as such could hold her own on timing, delivery, and performance.

I can think of two reasons, but they were featured in another sketch during this episode.

So, a handful of writers sat out this episode and, as a result, it turned out to be the best of the season. If I were Lorne, I’d thank those writers for identifying themselves as the problem and give them their walking papers.

He said nothing disparaging about the Jewish people. He simply said what the vast majority of Americans already know but are afraid to say out loud: You’re allowed to make observations about every demographic in this country, except one. Pointing out a demographic coincidence that there is a disproportionate

I find Kyle much more tolerable than Mickey Day, who literally has the same damn high rise inflection in every sketch. Plus, I just hate his face.

Meh. Had no idea who the host was. Still don’t, really. Is she gay? Seemed like a couple of bits seemed to rely on that info...

I’m sorry, but I found this episode mostly awful. It just got off on the wrong foot - lots of little technical mishaps, characters having trouble reading cue cards, mics not turning on in time, a couple late camera angles, sounds of sets being rebuilt in the background. Kate returning as Fauci was a giant meh and even

I will never understand the Kate McKinnon love. I find all of her impersonations to be so grating, and just not funny.

I think Drew answered the question wrong. The wife wasn’t saying swipe perpendicular. She was saying hold it perpendicular, which is what’s happening in the video. Weirdo husband does what dude in the video does, but with the stick turned 90 degrees.

Our PTA had a “no fuss fundraiser,” and it was great. “Just write us a check. The goal is $10K, which we could hit if every family gave $25. If we make that, no other fundraisers all year.” And it worked. HELL YES.

I’m confused as hell after reading the deodorant one. Did someone mix up parallel and perpendicular? Do I not understand human anatomy?

You guys are still doing that Drumpf thing, huh? Jesus.

I got caught shoplifting a damn shirt when I was about 13 or 14 years old. Know what they did? They banned me from the store for a year and called my mom. The appropriate penalty for teens stealing shit is fear and embarrassment, not years in prison.

What’s with the section of Tennessee being shown the Jacksonville versus Cleveland game? It is not addressed in the article and I cannot think of a reason to explain it. EDIT: Could it be Tennessee Titans fans wanting to see Jacksonville lose? But then why not all of Tennessee?
