Yep! I actually wasn't too familiar with Adam until he showed up on Haven as stunt casting to get the ratings up, and oh WOW. He quickly became one of my favourite characters, and I took the time to do reading up on him, and watching that hall of fame speech? I lost it completely. Just so sad and heartfelt.
Yeah, but your name is spelled correctly. ;-)
Yeah, I had several family members work at FedEx during their college days (when I was a kid), and I remember the company with general fondness, including all the extra folks who used to hang around.
I believe they're standard, unionized hourly rate, actually.
Yeah, no, our UPS driver on the work route? Only delivers during business hours. Nice try, though. (And regardless, talking about becoming violent with customers definitely is out of line. If you don't think so, you've apparently lived a really cushy life.)
Pheonix. I feel the misspelling is important.
I'm not 100% impressed with them - they managed to lose a package (my Christmas gift, actually), and their attitude when we called to report it as "just sort of stuck, sitting in one location, for a month" was "oh well, that's an automated facility and we can't do anything. Too bad."
Weird. We haven't seen the driver since we politely called UPS and told them his anger issues were making people hide when they saw him coming, because some people are genuinely concerned about him "going postal." Maybe we weren't the first complaint!
I mailed my packages late this year - like, mailed them on Thursday late. USPS delivered them Saturday and Sunday, getting everything there well before Christmas - and several days ahead of their estimated delivery (as they were upfront about being swamped). A competent post office confuses me.
Lawrence has also been pretty outspoken about how much she hates the photoshopped posters, etc. So Rivers is off mark, twice.
Ha! I used to work for a wildlife rescue; down the way from us was a ranger station, and they had a tame opossum who'd been raised from pouchhood by humans, so couldn't be released. The cuddliest critter ever - she loved being carried around like a baby, and would wrap her tail around your arm as you held her.
Well, yes, he was answering questions about grammar... but all of the "answers" were jokes of some kind or another (no serious answers). So he was sort of set-up by a follower, and he took a swing and missed with the joke. (He is being misquoted, though - he said African American neighborhood/Italian restaurant.)
As someone who has been making increasingly more elaborate gingerbread houses for the last few years, I'm right there with you,...
Because he's an incarnation of evil? (I absolutely LOVE watching him froth about Francis. It's become sport viewing for me. "Ooo Francis did something that'll piss off Chaput and Dolan–quick, to American media!")
Johnson's daughter Blanche says she was "moved to humility" by the time she saw a homeless man kneeling before a nativity scene along the Pacific Coast Highway (on her way to meet Nicole Richie at Pink Taco, probably). She was so moved, in fact, it made her stop and wonder how we can be invited into the nativity. LOL…
Yeah, the 26th used to be a bonding day with my sister and mom; we'd get up "early" (normal time for the two of us on East Coast time in a Pacific timezone) and go shopping and pick up necessities for the next while. Those were fun days.
Mostly because that's when scheduling lines up for my family. This year, we celebrated over the weekend, since Dr Sister was on the 48hr Christmas shift. The fiancé and I had a nice quiet day of a few gifts together and a nice dinner on Christmas proper. Why? Because it's when I have off work, and we have other plans…
Yeah, reading about Edge's injuries was really eye-opening (and I say that as someone who has an uncle who was a professional wrestler; they were much more quiet about things in the 80s).
