An ex-girlfriend had an Ion. She loved that thing. I’m not sure I’ve ever driven/ridden in a worse car than that. I don’t think it ever gave her any problems, but everything about it was so cheap.  The plastic felt so chintzy.  The motor was a wheezebox and the gearbox was reminiscent of something out of the 70s.  The

One of my friends got a brand new Explorer on his 16th birthday. Yes, this was the Firestone-rollover era Explorer. He crashed it 3 times in the first year. This was before everybody had cellphones, much less smartphones. I can’t even imagine how much worse it would have been if he’d had the temptation of scrolling

I’ve always loved the look of this generation of GTI. Even after owning a Golf of the same vintage for nearly 10 years, with 2 of those years being the “death by 1000 papercuts” of endless repairs.

Normal-ass survivors like these are the best. It’s easy to forget the design language and trends of eras when the Luminas, LTDs and Grand Prixs have long since been crushed or rusted away to nothing.

No, but the Federal government probably will. Failing that, attacks on clinics/practitioners from deranged Trumpists will escalate.

Access to safe (and legal) abortion is dead and buried. It will involve leaving the country from here on out. It’s a question of what they’ll come for next. Pregnancy test prior to international travel? Mandatory pregnancy tests for every woman, every month? Sounds about right. But you can’t force me to get a vaccine

By 2024, the only place you’ll be able to get an abortion is California, and by that point there will be daily terroristic attacks on clinics and care providers.

I’m assuming this is code-speak for “this Rolls was never owned, leased or rented by a rapper.”

Won’t somebody think of the mega-rich?

Bad news for Harley: Sturgis is coming up and will probably kill off 25% of their target market.

I’m guessing that Bezos has planned for this eventuality in any number of different ways.  He probably has some kind of nanotechnology embedded in his body that sends up an SOS with GPS coordinates if he goes through a certain blinking sequence.

It works very, very well in certain instances. I had a client a few years ago in the high-end clothing sector that modeled its business around this very idea. The associates functioned a bit like personal shoppers and were encouraged to befriend customers.  Lots and lots of complimentary wine was/is involved.  The

ND.  I’d consider paying the asking price for a nice ‘90s-’00s VTEC version, though.  Great little cars.

Tepid car Tuesday.

I’m guessing this woman also doesn’t need a COVID-19 vaccine, because she’s been inoculated by the holy spirit.

I too have ridden that dragon.  And survived to tell the tale (barely).

I was promised better cellular reception.  It still sucks.

This is just it. The current bad faith arguments are 100% focused around death rate. As if it’s binary: oh, you didn’t die, so you’re fine. I know a handful of folks that caught “long COVID” and it’s been debilitating for them. One of them was an otherwise healthy female in her 20s, and it took her literally a year to

I’m sure he and his entire extended family have gotten the vaccine.  That’s all that matters to him.
