Fellow working musician. I agree with all of this. It also doesn’t take “20-30 minutes” for changeover if the bands know what they are doing (don’t break your drums down on stage, drummers), and most shows you can backline. If you’re seeing a tour package (like, say, Mastodon/Opeth/Ghost) it might take them 20 minutes…

Or! Shows could start earlier, like around 7 instead of 9. I am a working musician that plays gigs at least once a month, and both rules of etiquette and the desire to be paid dictates that I stay all the way to the end of the night (usually 2 AM) every time I play a show, even if I’m not part of the headliner.…

It’s easy to speak without offending people.

Japan, just two generations ago, literally invaded Korea, kidnapped and raped women, and never truly apologized. But sure, crazy to think that anyone could be offended.

Japan is a beautiful, modern nation with an ancient culture. They have gotten a comparative free ride in the west for their crimes in World War II which were certainly the same in scope as their Third Reich allies. The past crimes of the Germans have had much greater exposure and contrition.
