I do a lot of road trips in the US and have driven in many different countries throughout Asia, so my take on this may be different. Most places in the US are pretty good. I had the most difficulty in LA, even in my Z4 I had trouble accelerating fast enough to merge onto the highway. Chicago is just annoying because

I think that Michigan and Detroit should be counted separately, although we do like to use the suggested speed limit as an absolute minimum on almost all roads. Detroit is not really that bad, just everyone goes really fast. I haven’t got a ticket yet, but I’m a pretty law abiding driver, my mom however, in her light

But wait, theres more! I used to see them quite regularly in Beijing and after checking my friends now retired website- carnewschina.com- some light has been shed and I have learned even more useless facts! Locally, Blazers based on the Brazilian facelift were build in China from 2000-2004!

Nice, next if you come to Beijing let me know. And thanks for the idea.

I’m not sure if I like the paint. I am sure I don’t like the front end design though. To me the paint looks like either tribal tattoos or mascara. Or one of my favorite WWF wrestlers from back in the day, The Ultimate Warrior which is kind of compiling both... However, none of those are really a compliment and I don’t

I live just down the street from the Beijing Exhibition Center. Many of my friends have already gone in but I’ve been working. I’ll be going to the show some time in a few days anyway.

I’ve been fond of Jalopnik since 2008 or so and remember when we would go on to the Canadian sight or something 5.0 to enjoy the unchanged format for a while when the first big refresh freaked me out. That was over 10 years ago and now I’ve just come to accept that changes are inevitable. As long as there is good

I’m defiantly not a VW fan (though my dad had a Kharman Gia and a few Beetles before I was born). I once won a new VW and requested the cash prize instead of a new car...

Nice price all the way. This car is not for everyone, but I’ve owned a similar model for 7 years and can’t imagine myself driving anything different. I find newer cars bland and over done. There is a simplicity that is not present in modern cars that the Camaro has in spades. Assuming there are no underlying or

I’ve never participated in the Woodward cruise but Waterford is my favorite track. Anyway, I feel the same way, it is a shame that some people ruin a good thing with the lack a civility. But that goes to show who is in the scene for the love of what it means and who is there as a poser or trying to get likes on their

I own a Camaro and a BMW. Your post made me uncomfortable and curious as to what club I should hypothetically join! Haha!

Yeah, I grew up with a father who loved the manual, I learned how to drive with a manual and my fun car of course has a manual transmission. All my guitar amps are tube amps and so is my home stereo so I can really relate to this.

I still think it looks great. Mine was all black and I took off all the chrome badges, tinted the windows and slapped on black rims with a red stripe that matched the red leather interior. I still dream about getting another and swapping the engine and drive train to make it into the rear wheel drive awesomeness I

It was in the early 2000s when I was shopping for my first car. I just knew it had to be black and 2 door. Having idolized a lot of the imports since the 90's I was fairly sure I was going to get a car from Asia. I should also mention that I lived in Taiwan and Hong Kong in the late 90's which made me more attached to

V8, Manual transmission, rear wheel drive and convertible all in a timeless design checks a lot of boxes for me, however the price just knocks it back to CP land. There are plenty of other cars that have the same options for less, and in a world where people still mistake my Camaro for every pony car I would assume

Have a star for bringing back the memories of being hypnotized by watching the road through the rust hole in the 1982 Subaru’s foot well as my dad drove me to hockey practice... and for me getting to shift for him in that car when he hurt his hand.

It’s strange how sometimes the body and mind just stop enjoying some things. I’ve heard of people suddenly stop enjoying rollercoasters.

Both are Hobies, and sorry you lost your love for sailing I haven’t been on my boats in over a year and this year I’m not going to make it back to my mom’s house on the lake because of COVID.

I’m from South East Michigan, kind of in the middle of nowhere, my parents were from Toledo so we were more in touch with Northern Ohio than Michigan news.

I’m from Michigan, I own 2 boats. Both were purchased for under $800. I found one at the side of the road with a for sale sign and the other on craigslist. Mine are sailboats and are obviously very cheap to maintain. I bought some new ropes a few year ago and that was it.
