The Thursday game gets, at best, the 5th best game each week after the primetime games are picked and CBS and Fox protect their best game each week. I suppose Goodell isn’t going to admit that the larger part of his problem is that 2/3 of the league stinks and isn’t fun to watch unless they’re your team.

I think the problem is their (official? unofficial?) policy that every team in the league gets at least one nationally televised game per year, so while you won’t see teams like the Niners, Rams, Browns, Jaguars etc on SNF/MNF, they have to go somewhere for their one game, and that somewhere is always Thursday.

It wasn’t so much the union rank and file left the Democrats as it was the opposite. I think it’s telling that Sanders was extremely strong in the primaries among blue collars, especially in rust belt states. I wouldn’t be surprised if quite a few of these went to Trump.

Workers and the economy were much better off when the unions were controlled by the mob. The mob was no where near as corrupt and immoral as modern corporate America and today’s Senate and Congress.

This is a great example of why unions fell out of favor over the 20th century: too often, they cozy up to big business and exist primarily for enriching their leaders at the expense of the workers whom they are supposed to represent.

Considering how many times cop unions have tried to protect officers who’ve shot unarmed young black men, I think dismantling police unions is a good thing.
