There's a ton of interesting stuff being said about memory, trauma, dreaming, and to a lesser extent, collective memory and history. So much to unpack.

And that's just the first wave!

That last paragraph is totally why I haven't watched (or read) The Fault In Our Stars.

Eh, it's definitely a thing that some people cry at things that others find maudlin. I cry at just about everything, but the actual emotional weight is different and there's a difference between something cheesy or something remarkable.

I used to have problems with it, but as my own fraught relationship with makeup evolved, I think it was really more that she was more comfortable feeling vulnerable with these people and part of that was having her face exposed/looked at more than before.

I'll buy a couch just for the occasion!

I just bought Your Heart Is A Muscle The Size of Your Fist by Sunil Yapa on my lunch break. I'm only about 20 pages in and there are already sentences I've underlined for how amazing they are.

I'm in Canada, but I've been teary about this all day. Weirdly, middle-aged men have been especially nice to me. Maybe they can tell what's up.

My hubs is a dual citizen but we live in Canada. I was giving consideration to doing grad school in the US, depending on the election results.
