Wait…so it's not the costumes or the celebration of all things dead, spooky, and liminal, it's the…going to strangers' houses?

Black Phillip from the Witch but kind of want to scrap it and be shimmying Pat Benatar in the "Love Is A Battlefield" video instead.

The Red Green Show has a level of absurdist camp that Home Improvement wouldn't even attempt.

STAMOS!

Envy of Bob Vila is so very 90s. I'm sure he's still successful, but I remember being incredibly, impossibly bored as a kid while Mom watched Home Again. Even my burgeoning enthusiasm for interior design had limits!

As a boxed macaroni & cheese enthusiast, I think it's all starting from a base point of perfection and only making it better. I enjoy adding green onions and extra (real) cheese.

I re-watched it for the first time in possibly a decade a few nights ago and thought the most horrific thing was being stuck in the woods with people who immediately panic. The Ruins did the same thing.

My favorite part of Book of Shadows is when either the full-goth or soft-goth girl says "THIS IS JUST LIKE THE BURNING TIMES".

Internalized misogyny is why so many women liked this book/movie/whatever. The 'Cool Girl' archetype is absolutely a part of the cultural imagination for women, too. Covertly (and overtly) women are encouraged to both live up to it and disdain women who are not it and/or feel directly competitive with women who are

"MURDE" is something I would've thought was hackneyed even when I was just getting into horror as a twelve year old. Try harder, AHS.

AHS has always been pretty fascinating when read in a feminist context, especially since so much of the first season was centered around gaslighting.

I don't understand why cultural trends automatically have to be placed in a generational context. Maybe it's just inherent to think piece culture? I mean, it isn't, but it's pretty boring. It's not like Boomers don't take selfies or whateverthefuck.

I have started opting out of having opinions and/or expressing opinions on a lot of things and it's helped my mental health a lot. And it's not that I really believe anything controversial, it's just that sometimes it's exhausting to interact with other humans in that way of just throwing opinions at each other.

Pop culture magic is so fascinating. The kids these days are so into stuff like shufflemancy and emoji spells, etc. I'm kind of for it, but I can see how other practitioners would frown on it.

Happy Birthday!

I recently finished Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23 and it was great and I'm sad there weren't more episodes. At least the ending was decent!
