This was like choosing favorite children.

I was so happy when bacon fervor and simulacra stopped, so help me this better not cause a resurgence.

I had a chicken shwarma wrap with extra garlic sauce last night and it was possibly the best I've ever had!

I bought 4 bottles of pumpkin scented body lotion yesterday. I've already had 2 pumpkin spice lattes.

I've read that for a few different Black Lit / Early American Lit classes and it never got old on re-reading for me.

I recently finished The Best American Poetry 2016 and was heartbroken to find that I…didn't love it. At all. I was pretty cranky when I read it, though, so I should probably re-visit it later.

I'm going to go as Black Phillip from The VVitch!

Impromptu mid-aughts dance party with friends on Friday - mostly Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Wolf Parade. Then on Sunday hung out with my bestie and watched her play the Nuka-World DLC. Watched some Louis CK and Ali Wong stand-up. A fine time had by all!

I think I'll stick to Hag Seed, since that's out soon. I have some trepidation about it but this comic is obviously…something much more else.

It has very limited utility but at least it seems mostly over and post-irony reigns?

Clea DuVall in everything please!

It was the "they were sweet angels, they're never toothless crackheads" (paraphrasing) bit. Like…I get that she's trying to be acerbic, but the insinuation that addict lives would be expendable bothers me. She could've just been horrified and left it at that, y'know?

As soon as my coworker leaves for break I'll be alone in the office and listening to The Clash!

It makes a tragedy schmaltzy and "whimsical" which…might be one of New Sincerity's most gauche expressions ever.

Have you read the parody of that interview? "The e-mails between Natalie Portman and Cormac McCarthy"? Pure gold.

Amy Schumer's snide comments (in that same interview!) about the people who were killed at the screening of Trainwreck were enough for me to categorize her as "bad". Sometimes we arrive at conclusions based on evidence!

I forgot all about 'Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy' and now I'm remembering being in a bar in my redneck hometown, this song coming on, and the crowd cheering, and how acutely I felt the existential despair of being at that time and that place with that song.

Dressing for your size is important at any size but a lot of people let either wishful thinking or body shame be a hindrance to that. It's too bad, really.
