I noticed this as well. They could have spent a few seconds making it plausible: Kevin is lecturing abroad, Scully's wife is Canadian and already celebrated, Cagney and Lacey are home with chicken pox, Genivieve & Nikolaj are visiting her relatives and Boyle is flying out later that night.
