I’d be in the market if this was slightly jacked up for ground clearance. I miss my Delica...

I loved driving my 135i (not owning, unfortunately due to constant problems). I would look for this spec, or a 135 in a coupe, not a convertible. I guess for a sorta fun convertible you could do a lot worse. Throw a good exhaust on there and you’ll have some great noises while the top is down.

They might want to think of spinning wranglers off into it too — people still pay top dollar for a horrendously outdated vehicle. I like them but can’t imagine spending new car money on a wrangler. I love our Grand Cherokee but at 40k it’s going in with a (hopefully covered by warranty) new engine replacement already.

Panel gaps are all wonky too. The rear bumper is hanging low

There’s gotta be someone out there who is going to jump at a rust free wagon in original condition. That person wouldn’t be me — this is just an ugly old station wagon — there doesn’t seem to be anything cool or kitschy on it (although I guess you could apply wood paneling vinyl) to make it anything other than boring

Just mentioned the same thing in the other story before coming here. This all reeks of Musk lobbying. Trump is likely too dumb to figure out the scheme.

His recent statements reek of Musk influence. What could be better than a president pushing massive foreign tariffs (which in itself is a horrendous idea), and non-unionized factory work for Elon?

Seems like a reasonable price for a reasonable car. That said, if it were me, I’d be looking at the turbo models. They are more expensive but if you’re going to buy a 12 year old cayenne, get the wild one.

It is a nice looking car, and well-optioned. However, for luxury I’d have a hard time buying this over a similar age Mercedes E class, which can be had for about the same price and condition all day. I’d bet an e350 would hold up quite a bit better than the VW over time as well. As a reference point, I got my w212 e550

Oh its definitely that. Law enforcement ignoring the spirit of the law? *gasp*

The car seems fine, but I guess in this range you’re going to scrape the bottom of the barrel as far as dealers go. I wouldn’t really feel warm and fuzzy buying from this dealer but I’d gamble 4k on the car, you could reasonably keep it together until 200k I’d bet.

I can appreciate this - the M273 is such a great NA engine — lots of power, great sound, extremely reliable (after the first run). The hole in the dash is likely from the old instrument cluster having a rheostat.

NP! I don’t want it, but someone will. Paint and interior in great shape -- I can look past the ripped soft top (are you going to keep this thing outside anyways, and drive it in foul weather at this point?) and no AC.

I love me an old ponton. But not really this one...Kind of a neat idea I guess, but unless its a rally 450SLC or the Red Pig, it just seems like an extra from an old Herbie movie. I’d rather just cruise comfortably in a regular ol’ ponton with all of its class and elegance and not try to be an athlete.

You joke about using this as a mail vehicle, but when I owned my Delica, this was a pretty common scenario on our forums. From what I understand, a lot of rural carriers are required to supply their own vehicle and the RHD obviously makes it easier to pull up to boxes.

Lots of miles left in this one -- absolutely NP. It looks to be in very good shape, to boot.

So without the swap, this is probably what, a 3-4k car in this condition? And its only that high because of the e30 cult following. So the seller thinks this swap is worth 24k? Yeah no...put the fucking trim on to start, include the nice wheels at that price, and replace the trashed interior. This is a 10k car.

The Kia Carnival seems pretty dope too. Get those recliners in back

Looks good enough to me, a nice little red roadster as a driver. The roll bar isn’t the prettiest, but I could live with that. The twin cam would be neat, but assume that the v6 is far more reliable and grunty for actual driving.

They are plastic and are known to warp and/or crack with heat. Due to the idle hours of police vehicles, you don’t get the airflow needed to cool the engine bay -- leading to increased premature failure. This leads to oil leaking out and just general low oil issues. I didn’t realize these were full on engine failure,
