If you’re buying this for a 3rd row, it seems silly. Lots of larger SUVs can give a little more room and utility, and whatever was wrong with minivans if that is your MO? I don’t see that as a major selling point.

I could see this getting 15-20k, based on its condition. I also always wanted one of these, but not at this price. About the german rivals....You could get into a decent used E550 for 1/3 the price with the same performance. Hell, for 33k you are approaching e63s and more recent M550.

See also: Ayrton Senna. He is idolized in F1 for his aggression and pushing the limits, right up until his luck ran out. That said, find me a modern F1 driver that does not put Senna on a pedestal not just despite, but in accordance with his ruthless aggression...

Technically it’s already gone, but the cars are still out putzing around. Given their reputation, I think it’ll be about 10 months before they all but disappear, bricked by unsupported software with glitches.

They could make the trims a lot more relatable. For example, the salt life trim, the punisher trim (with an upmarket version including the blue lives matter package, a thin blue trim line applied across the car, but devoid of any actual meaningful content), replace the smokers package with the vaper’s package, etc.

There are art cars, and then there is the most convenient surface for mom to dance around while high as a kite and use up whatever paint is laying around the house in an effort to summon chakras or communicate with aliens.

Classic GM parts bin engineering. I’ll use the Saturn Sky as an example:

If this were my thing, I’d have a hard time not going with the absurdly and nearly-offensively ugly Seville bustleback. That said, I think the seller is right on what they should be asking (and will probably need to knock it down for the actual sale). At 7k I think this is a fair buy.

Maybe I’m not reading this right, but isn’t this just inverting the calculation? If policy is set at say 50MPG across a brand, that equates to 2GPHM. If you set a policy that requires 2 GPHM across all models, how is that any different? Your SUVs that get 20mpg (5GPHM) still lag behind and your more efficient cars

Aside from the ABC this is a pretty reliable car. The ABC suspension isn’t even all that hard to replace, but will cost a bit if you have a shop do it.

The biggest problem with these tends to be their drivers’ reputation these days. I guess I’m getting old but I’d rather be labeled a boring appliance driver than a street takeover enthusiast.

Fix the dents, rust, bumper trim and then maybe it’ll be worth 5k. ND.

they mention in the comments that it’s been leased through Toyota Financial.

I had a JDM 93 Delica that I really liked. I really dig the idea of a modern PHEV version. I did really enjoy the rawness of the old van though, it was a diesel and a manual that See-Sawed on its cabover short wheelbase. I imagine this new one will be “refined” and “safe”, maybe even “economical”....PFFFF

Tbh I feel they’re a really underrated SUV. They’re not the most exciting, but for their segment they offer a lot for the money.

These are great looking little crossovers -- I still do a double take when one passes, it’s got some Lambo Urus vibes going on from some angles. As an appliance, seems like a great deal.

I had a CT70 in college and the gearbox exploded...at the time had no money or space to store or work on it so it got scrapped. Man....

I really debated a turbo version but realized I needed at least one reliable car for my wife to drive and not worry about. So we got a grand cherokee...but if we ever need a second car (towing, beach 4x4, light offroading, hauling) a silly tuned turbo cayenne is up toward the top of the list.
