just needs a bigger skimmer

Yeah I think they’re gonna need a bigger skimmer for that

Literally every manual RHD car.

preventative maintenance and the odd broken window regulator.

yep same engine, BMW M21

Not really seeing what the hype is here. It’s a fairly mundane and generic dashboard to me, pretty much what you’d expect a 2022 MY dash to look like in the segment.

Yep, likely a double hull design.

Since Exxon Valdez, all new tankers (and I want to say most or all cargo ships in general, but not entirely sure) are double hulled for this exact reason. The ballast may have been between the two hulls? In the very least, the intent is that in the event of a collision, the outer hull gets breached but the inner hull

Hahahaha, welcome to ‘Murica

I am amazed in this day and age that these engines do not have direct injection. They’ve been milking that old pushrod 5.7L for ages now, and it’s a good engine but yeah the mileage is terrible. My 2021 5.7L JGC gets about 20mpg on the highway, makes me wonder if they were able to fit a DI system on it, just how much

They do all have 4 wheels and doors, fair point.

Yeah mechanically the Prowler sucked, not even just because automatic but because terrible 3.5L v6. But design wise, there was nothing like it when it launched, and almost nothing since. It really was a productionized concept car. Chrysler did some really neat things back then (see also, the atlantique concept from 95

I love the Prowler but I’ll forgive you on that. In that list, at least there are some great things going on under the hood (obviously not base level). SSR could be had with the 6.0 LS2, HHR could be had with the LNF engine and manual, PT cruiser could be optioned as a 2.4 turbo 5 speed almost identical to the SRT4

I had a stealth and although I didn’t have the same number of miles on it, I also had about 8 years of trouble free daily driving. Regular maintenance and upkeep — timing belt and clutch were the most expensive, but both wear items. Ended up getting totaled by someone in a snowstorm (while parked)

2004 RX8. Wait, I’m doing this backwards.

Vibe, Solstice, Bonneville were all decent cars. Sure they had some typical GM turds (G5/G6, I’m looking at you) but I miss pontiac for actually being interesting.

Except we don’t. I don’t really know this guy’s background but if he is in tech/development of some sort, it’s pretty easy to land a great paying remote job and save like crazy. Rent out a cheap place for a bit and stash the rest of that 150+k salary month to month, it adds up quick. No house, no wife, no kids, few

It’s a lot of roadster for 3200lbs. If you want lightweight, just get a miata already. Even the GM Kappa twins and the boxster of the day were just a hair under 3k and this is more luxurious than all of them, the Merc SLKs even porkier...can’t really think of any other small roadsters from the mid/late 00s.

I loved the RX8. I had an 04 auto (which I got dirt cheap) and drove it for a couple years. Pretty practical, a lot of fun for what it was, thanks to excellent handling. Of course mileage was horrendous and the renesis engine lives up to it’s poor reputation in the reliability department. I can’t tell you how many
