As much as I want you to be right, I am afraid I disagree.

Good eye - the red top one is “fuel reset”, which is oddly just a switch near the glovebox that recalibrates a fuel flow sensor (IIRC). The other one is either the ABS light (likely) or parking brake (which is usually red)...so it’s either a bad sensor or low brake fluid.

Having done all of that maintenance on these...struts are like $15 a piece and take maybe 20 mins to change per (including jacking the car up and removing wheels, etc). Front suspension is easy, you can get full rebuild kits for under $200, and rear is just leaf springs. They tend to sag over time, but an add-a-leaf

Yeah I don’t get it either. Bring a creeper or sheet of cardboard with you, and a flashlight. That and a cold startup and drive should tell you everything you need to know.

Its engine-out either way — the chains, tensioners and guides are like $150. I don’t know why you’d put another used engine in (especially without doing the chains as preventative maintenance anyways).

Been there done that...not a fun job. Especially when there are no timing indexes on any of the timing parts. I actually still have the special jig sitting in my basement, I should probably sell it.

I had a later sport (still same base, just different bodywork) and it started having the domino effect too, and unfortunately I lost the space to work on it. The worst, by far, were the rear leaf spring shackles that had rusted out. Mechanically the thing was great (aside from a power steering hose leak) and probably

Yep, at this point I think I’ve owned it longer than any of my other cars. It’s great -- hard to beat for the money in terms of performance. The interior is plastic and creaky but otherwise not awful. The design itself is nice, just cheap. With the top down you don’t notice either way.

The 2.0 engine in the sky redline is fantastic. You picked about the worst thing to criticize about the cars...if there is one thing GM does decent, it’s engines. The body panels, interior quality, etc  are all terrible, but the chassis and drivetrain are solid.

GM is pretty much the owner of all “single worst decisions” here...lets be honest.

Was going to make the same comment. I think I went through like 4-5x sun visors until I just gave up and ripped the damn things out. I also love them lol

Not to mention the backdrop of a new charger. Seems like a mOpAr oR nOcAr sorta tryhard.

On a car that ironically, probably doesn’t have much of a floor underneath that carpet

Depends if he throws in that Buick hubcap

Also rather worryingly, the hazard light switch seems to be worn out

Eh, apples and oranges - that’s because your diesel has to mechanically stop the fuel pump since there’s no spark.

Agree, and hope you’re right

I am referencing the tweet posted by the Dr. within PHX which is embedded in the article

You should meet my MIL. She’s the type to hold it against you for years and years and guilt your significant other in a really terrible spot. Luckily, she’s all aboard taking every precaution she can (we aren’t seeing them).

Anyone catch the sad irony of someone tweeting a picture of PHX from inside, while vilifying everyone in it? Translated: “I wish all of you stayed home so I can feel safe doing the thing I am telling you not to do”...
