It’s got a tall deck height for the displacement, then you stack those monster heads on top and it becomes a huge package, but it is short, which works transversely because, as you noted, you have to mount the transaxle on the end.

OK, that’s a more fair explanation. The pre-Coyote Modular V8 was garbage, no argument there. Ford’s new 3.7 V6 demonstrated that. But the Coyote is absolutely a world class engine and I think it’s a good match for this project. The other factor to keep in mind here is cost; probably the only cheaper way to get 500HP…
They had to be. Ford put them in EVERYTHING.
It’s ease of manufacture as well.
The SBC is played out. Only way I would want to see one in this is if they could make it flat plane. Otherwise IMO the size/weight penalty is worth it just to do something different.
Sorry, lost interest at “Ford engine.”
You beat me to it, on a side note anyone want to start a fabrication company to outfit these for racing applications?
Oh snap! I didn’t realize how cheap those were. I think you nailed it!
Huh, those are cheaper than I would have guessed.
I see you shiver with antici
The V6 SHO engine is ANYTHING but bulletproof. The 60k/100k services were PRETTY involved and expensive. Check the seventh post down...
You know, my firearms get used nigh weekly, and not a one of them has ever been used to harm a person, much less kill someone. What’s more it’s well beyond happy coincidence that 99.99...% of the 300+million firearms currently in circulation in the United States are living similarly peaceful lives . This, alone,…
Ugh... and just when I’d given to hope that senseless hatred and violence were just an American tradition, THIS jackoff...
“I think it’s a Blazer?”
We need van control! Nobody should be allowed to own a van that holds more than 8 gallons of gas. Background checks should be required for anyone who wants to own a van. If there had been a 14-day waiting period, the driver would’ve had enough time to cool off first and rethink his decision. This area should have been…
That’s irrelevant. What you should be asking is, who manufactured the vehicle and why is the manufacture associated with such a horrific event? Also, do they condemn it? If not, then then we need to organize a social media backlash campaign.
I wonder what correlation CNN will be able to form between this attack and our president.
