For reference, it would take roughly 1,800 hp just to overcome the aero drag at 300 mph assuming Cd of .400 (a fairly normal supercar Cd) and a frontal area of 2.25 m^2 (about what the Veyron is). I have no idea what the mechanical drag is at 300, but I bet it’s substantial.
