This is the kind of crap that happens when you remove the ability to make judgement calls. Any sane human with a technical background would take one look at this case and say “yeah, that’ll work. On to the next issue.” Instead we’re wasting time and effort and tax dollars on something that is really a non-issue.

I would agree, were she not receiving the support of a top five team. If she was getting the same kind of team and budgetary support that drivers of her caliber generally receive, she’d have a really hard time getting to the finish line at all. That being said, me sitting here judging here is ironic since I can hardly

Am I the only one who thinks it’s awesome that Airstream has a display at the Bangkok Motor Show? I’m picturing Jeremy Clarkson hitching one to a tuk tuk and dragging it into the jungle...

That sure doesn’t seem like much! They must be bringing the ft-lbs!

Yeah, that’s about where we were with a GSXR engine. The German teams with lots of money and dyno time (and custom cam grinds) claimed to get over 100 on CBR600 engines. That was in 2007, though...

Most of the old 600cc 4 cylinder FSAE cars made between 75 and 100. I’m not sure about the latest crop of singles, though. Those were just starting to be a thing when I graduated.

Brother!

My 240,000 mile beat-to-death XJ with a shovel on the roof gets 17.5. Every tank. Highway or city. Winter or summer. Hard driving or easy. 17.5. It’s almost infuriating.

Yeah, it’s the fat ugly girl in that group too.

YES. I find it downright grotesque. It’s tall, has a weird greenhouse profile, and the early cars had headlights that make me want to punch a baby.

My C5 Corvette is fairly thrifty:

This GIF will haunt me... thanks.

This is a standard Alley Dock maneuver. It’s part of the Class A test. Every truck driver does this in school, then like 80% of them do it daily.

I’ve posted this here before, but I guess it hasn’t sunk in:

I Agree with you, because in 1967 this happened:

It’s GMAL, the same tunnel as in the lead pic for the article. This is way down the circuit. The test section is two 90 degree turns away from the fan. GM likes to show off their fan in press pics! It’s actually a pretty typical size fan for an intermediate size wind tunnel... which still makes it HUGE!

I dunno... I’ve driven Honda K24 engines with and without balance shafts and that slight buzz that wasn’t so bad at first... it just kept driving me crazier and crazier. After about 20 minutes (including like 10 on the highway) I just wanted to give it back. I mean, it just ate at me over time. Made me really not like

Not sure I agree with the wisdom of pulling the balance shafts from an Astron in a driver... Race engine, sure, but this isn’t a race car by any stretch. This thing will be buzzy to the point of being obnoxious about 20 minutes after you start it.

To them, it probably sounds like “I want to drive a Pontiac Sunfire SOOOOOO bad!”
