I think most fans of one are fans of the other, and the people who try to exaggerate the rivalry are a mix of the super-insecure and malicious shit-stirrers. The average Marvel fan probably likes some DC books and movies, and the average DC fan likes some Marvel books and movies.

Your problem is that you’re an adult who is expecting The Gamers to also act like adults and care about Adult Things like the ones you listed.
Sadly, the only thing that can get them riled up is hearing that a game might contain A Feminism or there’s a woman that they hate somewhere in the orbit of said game, or

There has never been anything resembling a good fight.

Ha! The only thing gamers really care about is their excuse to complain about anything.

Given everything we read during the BL3 pre-release, I honestly thought this would be the line in the sand for gamers. Just about everything coming from either 2K or Randy was this perfect storm of everything gamers have been trying to push back against over the past 5 years. Mistreatment of workers, allegations of

No, it was not.

There’s some good stuff in it. Kate Bosworth was kind of bad, and the last third of the movie was a mess, but Routh was excellent in it, and there were a few sequences in it (the plane rescue, the minigun fight) that were really well-executed.

I did too. I wish Routh could have had a couple more movies.

The scene where Superman rescues the plane and sets it down in the middle of a baseball game with the John Williams theme playing is still one of the best scenes in any superhero movie.

Sorry but isn’t pretty much anyone not named Landon Donovan that played for the USMNT be described as anonymous since most people won’t recognize who they are?

I’d definitely like to see more “Souls Light” games. I love the structure and gameplay loop of those games, and even though Bloodborne is hands-down my favorite game of all time, sometimes the relentless difficulty is a drag, particularly with the imitators. And not only that, it seems a lot of those imitators out

When Always Sunny does serious social commentary, it is especially poignant (and funny as hell):

I can see that. It won’t happen, but I think Hill would make a great Ventriloquist. That character is underestimated as an interesting role.

You either were unaware of or just ignored the insidious misogyny around you. Assholes committing assholery are easy to spot. You’re telling me none of your guy friends pined after a girl only to make the platonic move and then get resentful when she dated some other guy? Or made gestures in hopes of banking “good

As long as we’re gonna throw out anecdotal evidence, in high school (mid 90s) I was a dyed-in-the-wool nerd (D&D, Monty Python, collected Ghost Rider and Lobo comics, played a buttload of NES and SNES games) and 100% abso-fucking-lutely carried around ideas about women that were unfounded at best and toxic at worst.

im glad someone found the hug poignant. for me and my friends, it seemed out of place. why is Leia hugging this new girl and not Chewie?!

I’m very excited to play this game, but man-do I wish the MC was more interesting.

Midgar is the first 5-6 hours of FF VII generously speaking and if they claimed to extend that into a full game itself. Which means they have to do...

This “Episodic series” will never be finished.  Bet.

Yesterday evening, fans enjoyed seeing her in the spotlight. Some are now drawing art of Nakamura and meme-ing about how “adorable” she is and how she should be “protected at all costs.” While much of the praise she’s received seems rooted in genuine admiration, some have argued that more extreme variations on these
