You’ll be comforted by the sheer enormity of the statistical record on your side. It won’t be just aesthetics of his beautiful game (e..g., one of the reasons I hold McEnroe in such high regard and his chance to be a top-tier all-time great, even though he squandered so many tournaments, is b/c if his lovely

That’s a great stat line by a great player, but watching him light up the super trifecta of Brad Lohaus, Fred Roberts and an old Jack Sikma is not exactly awe inspiring basketball.

I really dislike this Tennys dude, but he would beat Serena easily. Top 100 men’s players hit the ball significantly harder, with more spin and more consistency, than Top 5 women’s players. Not to mention their ability to get to balls on defense, which is critical in today’s game.

Do you mean Flip? I had to rack my brains as I wondering who that was!

But I’m not just talking about the Flip Saunders years — it was more after that, when they just bitched and acted up all the time. They wanted to essentially coach and GM themselves, and that did not work. To pick just one example:

True, but not the later years.

During their prime, they were a hard-nosed unit that played highly effective, if sometimes inelegant, team-oriented basketball. But towards the end, they (esp Big Ben and Rip) turned into cry-babies and team wreckers of the highest order. And Dumars let them run roughshod.

Hoyer! Bortles!

The AFC Championship on CBS!

Just want to say I enjoyed the heck out of that movie — stylish, well-acted and creepy.

It’s the type of material of “B movie” material that is perfect for a director who made his name in artistic music videos (I’m pretty sure he did Jeremy by Pearl Jam), and of course Will Patton, who always seems a little suspicious

You have lots of good details, e.g., Burke (for the reasons you stated) better make sure his offensive game has developed (e.g., his 3-pointer) to make up for his physical deficiencies, or he won’t be long for the NBA, just like Rumeal.

What a weird list.

- Rickey Green “imploded” in the NBA? He started over 500 games and led the leagues in steals twice. Heck, he even made an All-Star game.

The original trilogy was *definitely* made for kids. I was re-reading the book The Making of Star Wars, which has a ton of archival photos and interviews. One thing that continually struck me was how explicit Lucas was in saying his movie was for kids, e.g., similar to how serials/westerns were when he was growing up.

I thought about Notre Dame, and I think they’d have no case to be upset. To get a spot, they just need to achieve a high ranking from the committee, which they have every opportunity to do with their profile & schedule (potentially, they could finish as low as #8, if the Power 5 champs are all ranked #1 thru #5; the

You are correct. Thank you.

UCF (or whatever is that year’s non-power 5 equivalent, like WMU last year) would be guaranteed one of the 8 spots. It would go:

- 5 spots: 1 each for the winner of B1G, SEC, Big 12, ACC and Pac-12.
- 1 spot: top-ranked (by “the committee) non-Power 5 school (e.g., UCF this year)
- 2 spots: the two top-ranked schools who

That *would* be a great game.

I think Elway might be even higher — if I recall, he went through some dark times during his divorce.

Did he ask a female employee to take a knee?

Glenn Greenwald fan, huh? Explains a lot.

Enjoy worrying about the little guy (“oh no, Joe Reporter and his co-workers donate $1,000 each to the Democrats!”) and thinking they remotely have the influence of the people who actually control & command of these corporate operations who—whether they run Fox, MSNBC, CBS,

The reporters don’t decide what is emphasized; they don’t pick the headlines; they don’t decide to partner with the authors of “Clinton Cash” and hype it is a big expose (which is *still* being used as a source for “HILLARY SOLD ALL OUR URANIUM!!!!”). The NYT has mostly liberal reporters. Why, then, did the NYT go so

It’s a curious thing how the left routinely denies the media is overwhelmingly liberal

I don’t think he said “stranglehold”, but it’s hard to overlook how far-reaching and important FoxNews (and now, to a much lesser extent, Breitbart, along with the rising importance of Sinclair) has had on a significant part of the population. Fox watchers tend to just watch Fox, and with the amount of disinformation

Can someone explain why “our” rich people are not doing this? Except for Bezos (who is hardly a leftist, but he’s not a right-wing lunatic at least) buying the Washington Post (where, along with the target-rich environment of the Trumpster administration, it has had a surge in importance and quality), why is it the
