Seriously, Will, I loved this interview. I've loved Steenburgen for as long as I can remember and this did not disappoint. Cheers!

Right, the quick succession of three contestants going down from heat exhaustion was nerve wracking. It's by far the most intense thing that's ever happened on the show, Jeff's expression once he realized Cydney was down too was… god, he's probably never been so freaked out. But he did very well managing all of it.

I was surprised to learn that of the water bottles and ice they did have, that was all for the crew and medical teams. Apparently they don't bring anything like that for the contestants, even for emergency situations. Certainly water or liquids of some sort should be handy on a tropical island where people are out in

Jeff's pissiness in that challenge is television gold.

I don't know, she saw what happened to Jenny and she's probably got enough life experience to tell her when to keep her head down. She seems really self-possessed to me, and doesn't need to have her voice heard to know where she stands personally. It's not like a tie vote would have helped her in any way either.

He seemed to be more than just baseline helping, though. He was clearly emotionally wrecked by what was happening, but he wasn't going anywhere until he knew Cydney was safe. You could see that all on his face. I don't like the guy one bit, but he gained some respect for how well he handled that situation.

He said something in the first episode about being the bruiser on his NBA teams, which was accurate. He's big and can take a hit, that's all that means. It also means he has no actual basketball skillz besides being really tall. Can't shoot, can't dribble. Can't even set a pick well enough to get off the bench too

I believe it's called Toyetics in the industry.

Won't somebody think of the playsets? Won't somebody PLEASE think of the playsets?!

How many action figures can they make from that?

Huzzah!

See the Flaming Lips collaboration.

In this case, being technically correct was the worst kind of correct. It was still a pointless misdirect from the topic at hand, which is a rhetorical device used by scoundrels.

It's nice to have pleasant discussions of misunderstandings and possible difference of opinion isn't it?

@Rocketpilot:disqus can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the idea is that racism isn't about being offended. It's about the power dynamic between a majority white male power structure that, consciously or not, continually acts in a way that keeps white males in power at the expense of everyone else.

It would be based on the syllable I think. So, control-ling would be technically correct.

I found it endearing. Please don't change it.

I dunno, I think he made his aversion to "dykes" pretty clear. Something about women who don't personally turn him on engaging in consensual sexual activities just pisses him off. Maybe he was forced to watch The L-Word at gunpoint?

The crazy thing is that when I read your transcription first, half of it didn't make any sort of sense. It was barely English. Then I read the explanation. The Context. Holy hell, that made it even worse. Basically (this is not a direct quote): "She's not asking for it by dressing like that, but she knows people use
