Your point was that a minority of young people would vote for a terrible candidate?

It was mainly one guy, and he was so TRUMP 2016 ARGHBLARGHL!!! that it was frequently delightful.

I agree that Palin didn't cause him to lose any Republican votes, but, along with suspending his campaign, it didn't help him win any non-Republican votes. McCain used to be a moderate, especially, as you said earlier, in regards to working across the aisle. He and Powell wouldn't have been terrible, I just don't

This is purely anecdotal, but my mom was a big Perot supporter. She didn't think he was a joke, she believed in his policies. She was also upper middle class, who had the most to gain from a Perot presidency.

I'll be honest in that I caucused for Obama in 2008, so I was almost certainly going to vote for him no matter what. But I really respected John McCain, starting from his 2000 candidacy on, until he picked Palin as his running mate. I mean, I didn't lose respect immediately, but it happened very quickly.

Which is funny when you consider that both Bernie and Hillary are within striking distance of McCain's age when he ran in 2008. But unless they do something completely unpredictable, no one is really going to be asking that question this time. Well, maybe a Marco Rubio or Rand Paul might.

And that just means young people aren't nearly as irresponsible as you seem to believe.

Well that I can agree on!

Psst. Her. "In her defense."

The idea that an agnostic transgender woman represents the Republican establishment over a Trump supporter like you is the most hopeful thing I've seen all day.

That's adorable.

I think for a lot of people, it was about Obama vs. Palin, because McCain essentially took himself out of the conversation once he picked her. It wasn't the ticket, no, but it was the clash of ideals over what they represented.

Voting for a Republican candidate is not any Gen-Xer's way of voting ironically for the lulz. People generally don't vote that way, at least not in majorities or large enough numbers to change a majority. No generational cohort is so homogenous to all vote for one political party.

At least it's good to see that no matter which generation we're talking about, the one before it will always think they're crap people.

Nothing says Caucasian like the name "Chad"!

To care about proper grammar is far superior than to not care. You would do well to remember that.

Good thing you capitalized the L in "Love" up there, I would have questioned your sincerity otherwise.

According to your Disqus profile, for the past two weeks, the overwhelming majority of your comments are on Trump-related articles. I stopped reading them after the first dozen or so, but you frequently end with "TRUMP 2016!!!"

I don't think they know what "cultural appropriation" means then.

Right? I don't even see what the problem with her art was? One character who seemed to have basically the same proportions is somehow "fat shaming"? Another character that originally had a blob of a hairdo is suddenly coded as a different race because the artist tried to stylize it in some way? The hell?!
