You know, this coverage of all things fashion makes me long for the days of Jenna Sauers, who gave a face and voice to models and offered a lot of insight into the process and mentality of her fellow models.

The way slavery, and all history of black people in the USA, is downplayed in schools and textbooks in general, irritates people. The softening of the word slave to workers is annoying since the rest of that textbook isn’t going to expound on that in any real depth.

If you haven’t read it already, I highly recommend “Lies My Teacher Told Me” by James Loewen. It holds no punches when it comes to tearing apart the crap job that US history textbooks do.
