Two things:

Look at the stats for people still on 2-3 year old versions Android and it's not hard to imagine that a lot of people who bought cheap Android phones are using them more like a featurephone than a smartphone. Google only makes money when you view their ads, and that doesn't including calling and texting (and maybe a

I think you're way off.

Look to the almighty Crecente, for he will lead us all to salvation.

A few of them did. Follow the talent, not the URL.

Bye everyone. See you in greener (or oranger) pastures.

Bye everyone. See you in greener (or oranger) pastures.

We're talking here. I'm sure you can endure a comment thread of complaints while we wait to be extinguished in a cleansing ball of flame.

shouldn't the word 'pathetically' be in there somewhere.

Agreed on kids hiding their dirty language. I would even say that the stuff coming through the headset is so bad and shocking that a lot of kids who hear it are afraid to tell their parents.

It's true, but good luck changing those kids or their parents. What we really need are better tools from Microsoft for managing our community. Maybe that ship has sailed for the 360, but they should be thinking long and hard about it for their next console. It's probably going to look a lot more like a modern social

Eh, I don't find this to be that ridiculous. I'd wager that a lot of parents don't really know how bad the stuff is coming through that headset into their kid's ear. Maybe it makes gamers look bad but in this case it's true. A minority of lound and offensive gamers can spew this stuff with no repercussions, and it

According to a test I did on an original iPad, it actually does charge. But very (VERY) slowly and only when the screen is off. You can try this by leaving it plugged in overnight, but on the older iPad it only charged 20% or so in 8 hours. With the new iPad's larger battery the % would probably be even less.

You have to be ignoring all of the signs to argue that the iPad isn't in the process of making a strong play for the future of home computing. It certainly won't replace everything, but it's long past the time to accept what is happening here. For most people, a tablet does the things they want to do at home better

It reminds me a bit more of the upgrade from the 3GS to the 4. It's got a retina display but because of all those extra pixels the old model will continue to be competitive performance-wise. My 3GS kept on trucking right up until the 4S came out, and I expect the iPad 2 will have similar staying power if you don't

I don't think that's really a problem anymore. It was mentioned in all the reviews and has received plenty of media attention. It's definitely a good thing for consumers to know, but it's still not that big of a deal.

I would argue that if any laptop received a pixel-doubled resolution bump that would be a big upgrade.

I'm loving mine. It's a significant upgrade from my original iPad. The screen is better than any I've seen before and the GPU+RAM boost makes the whole thing super responsive.

Angry Birds space was fun, but I felt like it was pretty short for $3 (iPad version). At least include the iPhone version ($1 more) or don't make me pay for the last world of levels ($1 more).

You can't win if you don't play.™
