You can list at all the detailed specs and benchmarks you want, but if it feels slow when you're using it none of that matters. Hands-on impressions and video is as close as your going to get to discerning how fast it is. Until you get a chance to play with one for yourself that is.

The iPad is what you have with you on the couch while you're watching TV on the big screen. Great for casual surfing and some pretty great games if you're into puzzle/word games, adventure or sim/strategy games.
