I honestly love Splatoon 2. It’s my favorite game on Switch, and I’d say it easily trumps the new Zelda and Mario.

Zero chat means zero toxicity. Nobody can fucking have me banned for playing a Splatling in Splatoon because it’s not meta and that is precious.

Yeah, I’m not really ready for voice chat with randos either. And I’m not convinced people talking to each during the first 24 hours of a new mode would have improved matters much. There’s inevitably going to be a learning curve, plus no amount of voice chat will save you from teammates who don’t recon the map, don’t…

The controls take a little getting used to, but after 30 minutes you will either only have played the first few (quite lame and slow due to the starter weapon) levels or a few matches of the very simple Turf War mode with the simple starter gun.
Once the game clicks it is hard to put down. I don’t play any other…

It took me a decent amount of stream watching to convince me to pull the trigger on splatoon, but I’m 100 hours plus in now.

I think adding two more quick keys for communication might help. And I’m sure the game is hella fun in league mode or lan play. But I’m still not quite ready for the hellscape that would be public voice chat. Stranger Danger!
