Fuck this article. My dog loves hugging me. So there.

I read things like this and it makes me ponder the whole concept of love. Like it is a complete mystery to me that we spend our lives seeking out these attachments clinging to the hope that they aren’t ripped away from us in a senseless tragedy. I love Chalupa Batman so much and I get into these sad cycles sometimes

randilyn, sorry if as I most definitely go overboard here. This is probably one of the few areas in my life where I do not snark, and I that I take super duper seriously.

Honestly, I love LCD Soundsystem. They played one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen out of hundreds. I’ve seen them multiple times. I don’t get all the strong emotions, though, about their breakup and resurrection.

Is anyone gonna say anything about how y’all just lost to Hulk Hogan?
Because the New York Times, The Daily Beast, Huffington Post, Buzzfeed and a whole metric fuckton of websites are talking about it.

I get you’re probably not supposed to, but it looks weird.
Super weird.

As the husband of a woman who is currently putting the finishing touches on her PhD dissertation, this article damn-near brought a tear to my eye. For the past six years I’ve witnessed the difficulties inherent with scientific discovery; I couldn’t imagine going through it with all of the bullshit many women

At best it’s longform humblebragging, and at worst it’s trying to pave over extremely important criticisms of the damage evangelical christianity has done to this country and its most vulnerable minority citizens.

Barf. I know Willow Creek Church. The people I know from there are all very “nice” as long as you are exactly—EXACTLY—like them. This reminds me of Shauna Niequist, also from Willow Creek. I dare you to read one of her books without throwing it across the room. This essay is exactly like her writing: shallow and full

No one wants to date a graduate student.

Ha, same! I’m TAing now and my students are pretty wonderful but there’s a certain chaotic energy mixed with wonder and awe that you rarely find in a college classroom. I think it’s because college students are trying to become “adults” and present as “mature”— it gets in the way of their brain joy.

I totally agree with you. Can’t remember the number of times I’ve opened an article just to see a video link and totally ignored it. I don’t mind videos when I expect one but never when I expect actual journalism.

The only thing that’s worse than video journalism is the proliferation of video guides over a nice old easily searchable written guide, whether it’s a text FAQ, a HTML website, or a full-featured wiki.

No, I don’t want to sit through a ten second heavy metal (or dubstep) intro in hopes that a 19 year old European kid

Maybe I’m old school, but I absolutely detest video journalism. Nothing against your attempt, Mr. Klepek, but I believe it to be an evolution the needs to be un-Darwined. I enjoy Kotaku because it’s one of the few geek sites that still write way more often than they make a video. I would’ve loved to read the article,

Rose Schlossberg (aka Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg’s daughter) shows a definite family resemblance to Jacqueline Kennedy.

THAT’S RIGHT, WHEREVER SHE WANTS!

where else could rosa have sat

To try and remain positive, I try to think of it not as a backslide but as the remnants of hard-core white power doubling down in their death throes. The alternative is so terrifying.

This article sums up well one of the real sticking points in the ever shifting debate that goes on in my head regarding having children.
Right now, NOBODY cares what I do. As a 30-something, my parents have long since given up on any hopes and dreams they may have had for me. My boss knows I’m pretty capable and
