Hey Feds! You know what sucks worse than maps? Our headlights! Change your damn rules so we can have better headlights!

Bad maps aren’t killing people. Stupid people are killing people.

My biggest issue with map companies of all sorts is the errant disregard for what the “Well we have to put something there” attitude does to others. But first, let me set the mood.

Why don’t we just install chips in stupid people that stop them from doing anything stupid?

How is this anyone else’s fault other than the ignorant driver’s? If you cannot, without hesitation or question, identify railroad tracks, you do not need to be driving. Period. Fixing maps won’t solve this problem, only better driver training will.

This is the safest way to deal with railroad crossings:

I really, really, REALLY don’t want to be that guy, but why would you turn onto railroad tracks? Were there extenuating circumstances? Was it dark/foggy/raining? Otherwise, I’m not certain why you wouldn’t reference the reality outside your car windows vis-a-vis what your navigation app is telling you. I hope I’m

2nd Gear: Don’t feel too bad, the employees are still getting paid to sit at home for the week or two they are laid off.

I was hoping for some 4G63 action.

Gotta admire anybody who reads the rulebook closely enough to maintain the letter of the law, only to beat the spirit of it within an inch of its life.

Nope. There is one particular spot not far from my house that has a pole taken out with regularity. Pretty sure the city sees it as a revenue source.

And yet he didn’t hit anything or kill anyone. So lets focus on the real asshole, Mr. Stang.

If I’m already not acting like a child, I then need everyone else to do the same, otherwise Big Brother steps in regardless?

I see two possible outcomes.

I’m a big advocate of making the fines much more painful. In CA, it’s $100 for the first time. Make it $1000 for yeh first offense. Very few people will continue to do so after the first time.

No, as we all know, POLITICIANS will just exempt themselves from the law...because “they” are important you know. It’s amazing how many things they find a way to punish citizens, but, somehow exempt themselves from the same laws.

Don’t be a twat. Cars are much better at protecting people from their own idiocy then they were in the 1970s and 1980s but there’s nothing factually incorrect about saying that smartphone use has killed people on the roads.

This is not the solution.

America already has a hot hatch that’s equal if not better than a GTI.

Everything looks like everything else. We know.
