Seems like that difference gives Confederate even more of a justification to exist, if anything. Almost everyone understands Nazi Germany was evil, but with a third of America believing the Civil War was about “states’ rights”, it might’ve been nice to have a show that takes off the nostalgia glasses and shows the

Nobody assumed that The Flash would be a hit, especially with Miller’s “issues” and the decision to basically reboot all the DC Comics properties, which was taken before the release.

It’s not quite apples-to-apples, but I’ve honestly never been clear on why we’re all okay with The Man in the High Castle but not Confederate, especially since we never even got the chance to watch the latter before condemning it. It’s not like Civil War alt history was anything new, either.

Because it didn’t happen. It didn’t even get a pilot.

but Confederate never happened. And who’s saying “we” forgot it? Have you forgotten gravity due to the lack of mention in this article?

That outrage was such bullshit. The Man in the High Castle had actual fucking Nazis taking over America, building extermination camps in Cincinnati and Boston and makes a reference to the “enslavement of the African continent”

Was The Man in the High Castle problematic too?

It was a good idea. I don’t understand fully the backlash against it. Simply the idea of an alternative history where the South won seemed to be the issue.

Well, the media (and us, by extension) keep falling for it, don’t they? “Ooh, they’ve really got him now! He’s gonna have to face the music this time!” It’s what they were all saying after Muller, after the first impeachment, the second one, the insurrection hearings, each of the four insurrections, and now this

Back in the day the comments were as good as the writing in terms of exploring pop culture.  Nowadays the comments are BETTER than the writing.

Quit watching after 1.5 episodes. Have they figured out what they’re satirizing yet?

Are Kotaku’s comments gone now too?  After The Root and The Takeout?  When AV Club comments are gone there will be no point at all to this website.

This show has been a real waste of talented people. It’s like they’ve come to the kitchen with great ingredients but then they didn’t know what to do with them, and the dish they’ve made just ends up tasting of very little.

I skipped the first Joker because I’m pretty sick of him at this point, but apparently other people aren’t. I’m not a big fan of racing cars either (or family) but plenty of people still seem to watching Fast and Furious movies. I really don’t see this beating its predecessor, but I also don’t think it’s likely to

See, this is why you don’t own a bunch of websites that you are doing your best to destroy.

Oh wow, had not noticed that. But no matter what anyone says, they are absolutely selling off each every one of these segments as they can. I feel like Kotaku is one of the more marketable and least controversial of the bunch (along with probably The Takeout). Although, I am not sure how many of these categories are

While Jeffrey Jones was very good in Beetlejuice, the absence of Glenn Shadix will be more missed, who is unable to reprise his role of Otho on account of being dead.

Yeah, that’s when you know they’re just waiting for the right moment to off it, I can’t believe this will have anything but a negative effect on its traffic

The comments getting turned off feels like it’s pretty final. Sad day

RIP Kotaku
