Why the fuck would this be a slideshow. Fuck off.

Hey, it’s our monthly “I’m going to finish the series, really I am” news item.

Just got home from seeing it. It was... okay. Overall it was fine, but boy oh boy does the tone whiplash back and forth between comedy (which works, hmm, most of the time) and drama. I loved Ragnarok and thought Waititi did a great job on that film (and pretty much everything else I’ve seen him involved with) and love

Phase 4 has been about 2 things, mostly. Setting up the multiverse is the showy thing, but it’s also been about dealing with the psychological trauma and fallout inflicted on the avengers during phase 3/Infinity Wars, and Thor was arguably hit the hardest. You can make a case for Wanda and I won’t fault or argue

500 million “users” looks a lot better than 380 million, even if the actual numbers are the same.

Now playing

Well, this is as close as I could come up with on such short notice for the meaning of life thing at least. You’re on your own for Game of Thrones, unfortunately.

George, we talked about this: No talking about the fucking book unless it’s to announce the publication date. Go get the genital cuff.

It wasn’t the ending.  It was that they rushed it and didn’t earn it.

Another item to add to the “Things R R Martin says that won’t be followed through on” me thinks.

Misery would completely fall apart if Caan ever for one second failed to convince you he can’t just get out of the bed and kick Annie’s ass. Rob Reiner deliberately wanted a “tough guy” actor to increase the sense of indignity, only to find all the ones he asked before Caan refused to put themselves in that kind of

Anthony Starr deserves something. Homelander is a terrific, multidimensional villain and Starr captures the selfishness, the pettiness, the insecurity, the incoherent rage -- all without turing it into an obvious Trump impersonation.

Also, for those bitching about Black Panther being #1, you’re forgetting the golden rule of online writing:

Did anyone expect AV Club to choose any other character? There is no conceivable metric by which BP could be considered the greatest Marvel film character but he certainly is the choice that signals that one holds fashionable opinions the loudest.

Amazon seems to put their Friday shows up at like 8-9pm on Thursday here, and so I watched The Boys finale last night. It was mostly underwhelming, to be honest. I will say that Jensen Ackles kicked ass this entire season, both figuratively and literally. And Antony Starr not being nominated for multiple acting awards

Technically, it’s entirely her decision to submit herself in either category, although I’m sure she has a lot of people urging or advising her one way or another.

I’ve loved Rhea Seehorn’s performance for years, I don’t know why anyone would consider the heart of the show to be anything but the lead actress.

John Turturro in “Severance.”

I have a (not very) brief treatise on Blade:

I think Eternals fatigued me, then Strange 2 killed any enthusiasm I had left.
