Terrible refresher indeed...yes bagman was intense, yes kim is prolly doomed. NO SHIT, great recap!!! The current avclub scab who’s assigned to this beat probably spent the entire weekend binging season 1-5 for the first time.

I don’t know, I thought I knew Kim until late last season.
He makes it outside the motel parking lot, but we don’t know if he’s alive after that, after so many Salamanca bullets went straight at him.
the fancy stopper from a bottle of Zafiro Anejo tequila. It is the home’s only sign that Kim might have ever lived there or been part of Saul’s life.
She saw what the Kettlemans were doing to vulnerable people, like the little old lady she sees in the parking lot. So she does have compassion - just not for the Kettlemans.
Maybe he visited her on weekends during Breaking Bad.
You are doing the Lord’s work. (Ask for a raise.)
Guns ‘N Roses —> Guns N’ Roses
What’s amazing is how much they were trying to tell us how beautifully and well filmed the muted and boring Eternals movie. Taika clearly has a better eye for what comic book movies should look like. Apparently the invented this thing called “colors” and likes to use them in his films.
50% of the country thinks 45 was a good president and should be one again.
I really enjoyed Ragnarok but it was the first MCU movie I saw where I thought, “Jesus, none of this shit matters.” Before then I was getting a little burned out. Ragnarok, even as I sat there with a smile on my face, was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Thor leaning into frame while Quill talks about “looking into the eyes of the people you love” is goddamn funny.
I’m mixed. Post-Endgame, Marvel has been up and down. And I haven’t found the movies as essential as they used to be. It’s more like going through the motions and this even feels like another Thor for the sake of having another Thor. But I like the character and its nice to see him back. And I trust Wititi
I think Ragnarok is the most enjoyable of the Thor movies, but I do like the first one alot for its world-building, (and best version of Loki before he became a joke), and I can understand criticisms of the third, which feels like it takes nothing seriously, and has no consequences.
although for only one scene, his part in “If Beale Street Could Talk” was the only thing i remember from that movie. He’s reunited with his old friend, the protagonist, after BTH’s character has just been released from prison, and when the film’s protagonist asks him about his jail experience, BTH’s facial expressions…
He and the always great Daniel Kaluuya kill it in Widows. Daniel is fucking terrifying.
If they were really going for an ‘80s Saturday morning cartoon vibe, they’d look more like He-Man or The Real Ghostbusters, not that kind of rotoscope-y / indie-movie style.
He's the perfect straight man for this show. His reactions manage to ground all the insane shit around him.
Really glad I rewatched the whole series last month in anticipation for this. It almost felt like I was watching season 1 for the first time again. Can’t believe the show premiered seven years ago!
Nothing about my main man?
