To be clear, Mel Gibson isn’t part of the conversation around cancel culture.

I really enjoyed the comic, but perhaps 2021 was not the best time to release a pandemic themed tale that dealt heavily with conspiracy theories, the collapse of governments, and gender issues.
I don’t think it’s because not enough men are watching it. I mean, RHONY exists, right? I think it’s because the characters are really poorly written. Could the Megan McCain or the Marjorie Taylor Green character be any one note?
It’s funny to me that I’m fine with the feminazis (I mean, it’s not a good storyline, but that’s the writing, it was a good idea) but I’m concerned with the lack of nuance among the right wingers lol
Y: The Past Man
Bye: The Last Man
Y: The Last Canned
So I read the first couple issues of the comic years ago and never got into it, but the reason I never watched the show is that the showrunners spent their entire promotion campaign in a defensive crouch reassuring viewers that the premise wouldn’t be offensive to trans people. I was aware of the basic story, and had…
yeee I think it was a miscast.
By which ep of Reservation Dogs would you say you knew it was awesome? I don’t know why but the first one didn’t quite do it for me (although the vision bit was hilarious).
Alas poor Yorick, you were canceled as well.
Y: The Last Season.
Yorick was pretty insufferable throughout the show. His sister also wasn’t great either, so I’m guessing the ratings weren’t helped by those portrayals.
Oh boy, I can’t wait to see long dormant, iconic late-80s characters like “Batman” and props like “the batcave” and ”the Batmobile” again after all these years! So nostalgic!
You said it, Chewie!
“Magic Guy Who Is Definitely Not Just Doctor Strange”
I was born in ‘71, so I experienced the 70s & 80s classics largely via VHS and DVD in the safety of home. Can’t imagine an in-theatre in-era experience of Alien’s chestburster or Exorcist’s crucifix masturbation.
Nice
Anyone here from Aurora, CO?
My childhood experience: Disney rereleased Darby O’Gill and the Little People back in the 70's and I think I was 6 when I watched it. The Banshee scenes were the scariest goddamn thing I had ever seen and, after the film while waiting for my father to come pick us up, I noticed the Banshee was even on the poster of…
Blair Witch was mine too, minus the power outage. Packed house, early in its run, so a sizable chunk of the audience legit thought this was a documentary.
When Samara came out of the TV in The Ring. For years I had little half moon scars in my knuckles from the girl I was with digging her nails into my fingers in sheer terror.
