Exactly. It’s also a meta joke about the convergence of superhero ubiquity with our absurd consumer culture. But how was that satire ever going to withstand an era where people like this sort of thing unironically?

In my head canon, Keri Russell loved the script so much, she turned down many serious roles just to ensure Cocaine Bear got made.
Could this inspire TikTok Challenges of drugging dangerous animals to see what happens? Sharks would be tough, but Alligators on Crack? Doable.
This is a good idea, I see no problems, and it will definitely work out.
I agree, but it’s just hard to know until after we’ve already spent our money. For people that are good at trusting their instincts, they can tell, but for others, some of these trailers are really effective at their jobs. I guess it also comes down to self-discipline/restraint.
Yes to all of this.
This is a good point about why Marvel is treating Kang the way they are. But I think it highlights something else as well- If they were confident in what they were doing, they wouldn’t need to kowtow, which is what it feels like is happening. I don’t know if its desparation, but in trying so hard with Kang, there’s…
Well said
That would be an interesting read. But as is, I do like how he enters the story, with the job posting after they’ve had some success. It feels natural, and in it’s own way, it’s a pretty unique introduction
There wasn’t a single infected seen in the episode, something else The Walking Dead never did (every episode had at least one walker in it).
When it’s not referring to a group of people.
What I’d like to see is more stuff like Persepolis and Waltz with Bashir on the small screen. More animated shows that aren’t action, or futuristic sci-fi, or raunchy comedies, but straight up dramas. Networks probably don’t see the justification in doing so if it won’t be fantastical, considering the production time…
The output matches the data because kids LOVE cartoons. There are child psychology studies, and as any parent can attest, the appeal of animation to children is pretty strong, so I think this is one stigma that just can’t be helped.
So I’ll say something that’ll get me in trouble: I like the crows in Dumbo. I thought they were cool! Are they problematic? Sure. But I find them less harmful than a lot of other ways it could have gone down, given the time period. For what they were, they’re fun, they’re funny, I enjoy the jovial energy they bring to…
I don’t watch a lot of anime, but when I check out popular suggestions, they tend to be some of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Perfect Blue was a prime example of this. I became obsessed after I saw it.
I thought it was fine, but I don’t love the panic attacks. It’s such a tv trope. You just KNOW it’s gonna conveniently factor in again, and the most inopportune moment.
Sounds legit. Since we all know this is how Whedon always writes female characters 🙄
Yea, Lily’s got everyone fighting, and I just wanted to speculate!
Boy do I agree about The Wasp! There’s a reason she is completely forgotten whenever people bring up the MCU’s best female characters. But I would suggest checking out Lost, because she is pretty good in it.
Does Disney+ cancel things? Most of what I’ve watched from them have been mini-series so it hasn’t really come up- or I hadn’t noticed. (Edit: They cancelled The Right Stuff. It wasn’t bad, but it was so serious it felt off-brand for Disney)
