There was definitely something about going from the dumb, blind Clickers, to humans who can see you, flank you, and throw Molotov cocktails and stuff. Pittsburgh was intense. I agree they captured that well.

I haven’t seen Yellowjacks, and I wonder if Yellowjackets fans are projecting something onto this character, because what they are saying of her vs. what I saw of her, are two different things.

Same. This KC militia is basically being run by a Karen, and I’m not sure I buy in.

In the game, it’s an ambush without question. (And the scene in fact, matters quite a bit to some important characteristics about Joel.) I can understand it being less clear on the show because they omit 1 line, arguably the most important thing from Joel that needed to be said: “He ain’t even hurt.”

Certain aspects of their relationship remain murky, at least to me. Was it sexual? True, they share a bed after an exhausting day in the pilot, but to sleep. Can we expect flashbacks that show intimate moments between the two?

Because Booksmart was essentially called the ‘female Superbad’ I think it showed us what that kind of movie can look like for a modern audience. They’re still horny, it’s still funny, but it does consider respecting the other gender better

I fully disclose that I didn’t like Superbad on my initial viewing, and for the reasons you said. I didn’t even like the cops because I found them to be trying too hard. I just liked McLovin. I’m a fan now, but it took me a few viewings to come around on it. I suspect, however, that it’s aged poorly- probably worse

I didn’t think I’d like it, but it was funnier than I expected. Subjective of course, but I would recommend it if you enjoyed sleeper comedies like Game Night, Horrible Bosses, or Hot Tub Time Machine. It’s on the level of stuff like that.

(I secretly hoped There Will Be Blood and No Country For Old Men would split the votes, cancel each other out, and Juno would win Best Picture. It’s so good)

If given the choice, I’d watch Superbad over all of those except Juno. Superbad is wild, but Juno clicks a lot more with basically all my sensibilities.

Neighbors! And +5 points because Seth Rogen was in that too

From one pedantic to another, I feel you. High school age doesn’t always mean high school movie, imo. But in this case, the story does revolve around a high school party, and the themes of going off to college, so Superbad more than qualifies.

Dude is clearly a treasure trove of headlines. On a slow news day, all reporters should be assigned to ask George Santos something.

Josh Duhamel wasn’t great, but Armie Hammer wouldn’t have made Shotgun Wedding any better. That movie needed to star a comedian

His filmography features four characters with one-syllable names that end in “X” (Cox, Hinx, Knox, and Drax)

From the trailers, I think Bautista looks hilariously bad in Knock at the Cabin (he’s a match made in heaven for M. Night’s monotone dialogue style). Obviously, I’m not as enamored with Bautista’s acting as others, but I do think he has good taste, and he did surprise me in Blade Runner.

Hulk = Black Adam is a reach. Interestingly, after viewing this list, they are the 2 characters that seem the most unique to their respective brands.

I wasn’t too familiar with Thor in the comics, but when I did see him in action, he seemed analogous to Superman when it came to being the team Heavy. But the Shazam comparison is a good call too.
