Agreed. I never understood why they didn’t elevate that other bully (Kyler?) He really embodied what I picture a classic Cobra Kai student to be. Outside of him and Tory, that dojo is populated with tough-acting nerds.

The jello... man oh man
Saying Will Poulter is like saying Jimmy Olsen would make a great Superman
I mean, DoFP writes Beast’s mutation so he can go back and forth- as if he’s a werewolf- and that’s not how Beast works at all. People jump all over Marvel and DC for far less, but this movie weirdly got a free pass.
Ah! I was mistaken in thinking it was 2012
Being familiar with the game can make one appreciate just how much the show is getting right. And their Easter egg game is on point. But I wouldn’t say its necessary.
This leans into a suggestion that the show will make the game obsolete, and I don’t think I’m on board with that. The cutscenes are great, but I found a lot of value in the playable parts too. As the article hints, there’s something about existing in that world, rather than just passively watching it, that’s engaging…
I’m always going to recommend playing it for those who are gamers and may have missed out. There are so few titles of that quality that are out there worth experiencing. But I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who doesn’t play videogames at all. They can just watch the show.
So really more like 6
Most of the love tends to come from the high of seeing the old cast members return. And the Quicksilver scene. I get that. But for me, I think they totally botched a chance to really examine a future in which the X-Men lose. I also kind of hated the characterization of Xavier in this. And the way it dispatched the…
X2 was outside of the past decade, so they couldn’t count it. I actually agree on all of yours except No Way Home (Bloated, fine. But we’ve seen far more awful MCU efforts, haven’t we?)
I rewatched Rise recently and forgot how amazing it was. Shame on me, because I recall it being one of my Top 5 movies that year and everything. It’s an incredible trilogy. Dawn is my favorite, but it was War, that somehow some way, actually brought me to tears when it was all over.
Oh, I think the line could have worked, just not from Tom Felton and not from that character. No offense to the guy, but it was an awful read in a silly role.
Fast 6 instead of Fast Five is a list stumbling right out of the gate.
The opening virus explainer reminded me of I Am Legend, which is a funny coincidence because the original teaser images of the game during pre-release, particularly of the overgrowth in the city, also gave me those vibes.
It’s wild, it’s weird, it’s a bloody fun time. Chucky works for me the way American Horror Story used to
Stop making sense and just grab a pitchfork.
Roll camera, aaand... ACTION:
Overwatch is it. Could have been the greatest thing ever. Now I actually think they waited too long, and the window for that has passed.
I guess I have to ask about a Red Dead Redemption adaptation, then. More pastiche than parody, I suppose, but it’s still filled with everything anyone has probably seen in any Western ever. Are my dreams dashed?
