Yep. Not much else to say, as it was essentially HBO’s male counter-programming to Sex and the City. It did better than some people would like to admit. Maybe too distasteful for a Top 20, but certainly good enough to make a Top 50

There it is.
I don’t watch the show for the dragons, and don’t want to sound like a fanboy for the dragons, because that’s the shallow excuse some people levy against GoT as to why its so popular... but... that dragon scene was fucking incredible
I feel like the ‘dragons are faster than ravens’ line was low-key meant to cover up some of the fast travel accusations from late-season GoT. Especially how quickly Dany flew north to save Jon beyond the wall.
Larys is never at Harrenhall, and has no family to run the place. Aside from his spies, he doesn’t seem like he has bannermen, servants, just doesn’t seem like much of a lord at all. If Rhaenyra took over, I’d be wondering how long it’d take him to notice.
Daemon slicing a Lord Vaemon’s head open in the middle of the King’s court definitely gave me the impression it was just a Tuesday in Westeros.
One thing this show doesn’t get across, that the books do, is that open murder is actually frowned upon.
Corlys and Rhaenys are supposed to be the ‘wildcards’ but based on who they literally spend all their time with, it’s never not clear who’s side they’ll be taking. Even when it doesn’t make sense, based on what’s happened to them.
I feel this way most about the opening titles. Unlike a clear and readable map, how is anyone who isn’t a book reader supposed to know what blood goes where, and which symbols belong to which characters, and so forth
There’s no way it’s all battles all the time. Dragons cost $$. I am 75% sure Season 2 will be mostly talking about battles we never see
Omg if the Red Wedding was ‘just a misunderstanding’ I don’t think Game of Thrones survives that! Like, as a series. We would have got season 8 backlash 5 years early?
The reason Starks vs Lannisters wasn’t so cut and dry was because The Lannisters had Tyrion. So, during battles like Blackwater, or the supply raid in Season 7 (after Jamie was redeemed and got popular, too) it makes the audience more conflicted when there’s someone you root for on the other side. While HOTD has…
I hope so. Don’t think I can handle both major comic book studios being lackluster right now. Marvel is practically handing them the ball. Take it DC and go score some points!
Hmm. A Superman reboot that would have started directly with his arrival on Earth is an inspired idea, actually. (How come nobody thought of this?) Instead of Krypton being exposition, it becomes lore. More time growing up would have been appreciated. His past is mythology, but as is, Snyder made it a prologue to what…
That’s what I said too. I always considered Batman Returns the ‘darkest’ of these, but it’s been dethroned now, and pretty stunning that The Batman isn’t rated R.
Nicholson’s my favorite too for the same reasons. Going all-in on the clown gimmick is just as effective at confounding normal citizens as it is the tools in his repertoire against the dark knight. Give me the gags, and hand buzzers, and a really spine-tingling laugh that tells me you’ve gone mad! Joker is as loud as…
Batman just didn’t want Joker to get away. It’s not his fault the building was falling to pieces!
The Nightmare on Elm Street one wins. Holy sh*
I didn’t like when David Hayter was replaced in Metal Gear Solid 5, and I didn’t like when Terrance C. Carson was replaced in God of War. Even if the games turn out great, it’s still a swap that bums me because I get really attached to the original voice actors who’d been with a franchise from the start. So Taylor has…
