I feel the same. I would have been curious what they tried to do, but I’m also not gonna lose sleep over this. Like a lot of reboots, chances are it would only be a pale imitation.

And this confusion about Hulk’s past is exactly why I’m against the “no origins stories!” sentiment fans have taken to in these recent years. With new versions, origins are necessary. Implied knowledge from other media just muddies the waters.

Orphan Black was pretty serious, but had moments of levity here and there. I’ll keep it real: Maslany was often the ‘straight man’ and humor mostly came from the supporting characters, like the gay best friend or the dopey husband. The one clone she played that could be read as consistently ‘funny’ was the one that

That’s a really good point. I guess like a lot of adaptations, today’s creatives are taking things to their logical conclusion. It might be fitting for current sensibilities, but it might not be fitting to the spirit of the work.

The Birds?

Woa... I remember The Addams Family being macabre but relatively bloodless. This series is going for something that might be darker than I expected- and that mildly excites me. I might be sold

Haha no kidding. It got me wondering: Who’s going to be the first school to call themselves Donald Trump High? Or Trump Elementary?

Even though they are the same universe, watching Walt and Saul in this scene together felt like a genuine crossover of worlds. These two guys, the respective leads of these two incredible shows, and there’s a different weight to it now. Saul feels more like an equal, even if Walter can’t see it. Easily my favorite

I thought the finale was good, but I think I fell too in love with the idea of Jimmy representing himself, because I really, really wanted to see how that was gonna play out! We’ve watched so much of him being a con man, but I like him best in action, as a lawyer. Especially here for the final hurrah. It’s why

roughly a week before the Thrones’ backlash kicks in.

Thank you. I remember because I was there.

I’m trying to think how a multi-episode trial would work, and I’m landing on The People vs OJ Simpson. HBO’s Perry Mason. That kind of stuff. It can be stretched out for a serious drama, but for a comedy, I’m not so sure.

Of the sword n’ sandal flicks that came out in the wake of Gladiator, I’d probably say I liked Troy best of the lot, flawed though it was. I was disappointed by Alexander, King Arthur, and Kingdom of Heaven- though I hear the director’s cut of that one is better

I’m disappointed because he was honestly my favorite character in this show besides Superman himself. As the non-powered son, he was the more interesting of the two boys, imo, and just played the part really well. Jordan doesn’t really feel like he could be the child of Clark Kent, but Jonathan did.

I didn’t watch Batwoman, but I was aware of the discourse around it. The article is dangling bait.

Lol, so Paul Dano’s Riddler, basically

Exactly this

Magneto’s prison escape in X2, (“Too much iron in your blood”) is a good example, and I remember my audience gasping- I myself only then started to comprehend how powerful an ability like that can truly be. Even comic fans were freaking out, so it had to be the first time someone thought to take it to that level

I feel like the cartoony looks of the games pre-GTA IV kept the world of it from feeling too ‘real’. My lil’ guy beating people with baseball bats, and ketchup-y blood splotching out was kind of... adorable? But once graphics improved, the series hit different.
