I’m with you. Will Smith keeping his Oscar still makes the night a net positive for him. It’s all he’s ever wanted, so he’s not going to care about literally anything else they do. So yea, I agree. Taking his Oscar is the ultimate punishment, and the only thing they can do that won’t feel toothless. The fact they

I see you did there!

CODA’s story is actually really basic, but it’s the kind of feel good movie that used to do really well at these things. I liked it. I didn’t “Best Picture” like it, but I liked it. It’s a good movie. Kind of hard to say anything bad about it, without looking lie a jerk, and that’s the perfect trap it set

Unfortunately, it didn’t stop Georgia from passing voter supression laws. And the fact that Hollywood condemned it, while still happily running over to film there, continuing to give them money, said it all to me.

Huh. It never occurred to me that these votes might be genuine. I saw it as a massive trolljob on the Academy for daring to even entertain the idea. A super ironic way to teach them a lesson. Casual viewers always hem and haw about how they don’t care about the Oscars, so I can’t fathom these same people would care

Turning Red is so much better. Encanto is lucky it didn’t have to go up against it this year.

I’ve heard jokes in poor taste. And I’ve heard Chris Rock go hard. Trust me, that was pretty soft, all things considered. But I’ll just say a lot of people laughed, so it stands to reason there are probably many who may not have known about Jada’s condition. All Will Smith needed to do was shed light on this in his

She was amazing. I’ve never paid Gaga much mind, but I get what people see in her.

The popular vote segments gave the Academy exactly what they deserved for including it, so that was kinda funny. The whole night was pretty funny, actually. I enjoyed Amy Schumer weirdly alot, and Thirsty Regina Hall was quite amusing. The ‘In Memo’ segment did the thing I thought they usually try to avoid- playing

I felt strongest about Andrew Garfield performance in Tick, tick... Boom, so that disappointed me. However, I doubt he would have had the acceptance speech Will did. I also was really rooting for Kirsten Dunst in The Power of the Dog. I still think the movie should have been about her character instead.

The reason I believe it’s real is because of reports about Denzel pulling Will Smith aside. Washington does not strike me as the type who would be “in” on some level of elaborate ratings ploy

Keepin’ it real: Every Black guy knows pressing charges would be a bitch move. (It’s a stigma, but that’s the perception)

Will Smith be like:

I appreciate this (and judging how people responded to your comment, the chances of the coming weeks being nothing but a love-fest are highly likely), but for now, so far, so good. Loved the first 2 eps

I just want shenanigans and controversy.

The 5 minutes fly by, so I guess it’s a good scene in and of itself. Hell, at numbing 3 hours, what’s another 5 minutes anyway? Can concerns about pacing hold much weight when the movie’s already bloated as it is?

I like Fogler for Coppola! That’s not bad! Keep him. The Offer is just season 1. The Horror is season 2, and it will dramatize making Apocalypse Now.

Hollywood loves stories about Hollywood because it means the people who make movies are just as interesting as the movies themselves.

That’s really weird. Is this a thing that happens? Now I’m wondering what other actors didn’t get invited for their movies.
