Mostly agreed (and it’s why I’ll be skipping Peacemaker), but to be fair, it seemed like the character was written, and performed that way on purpose.
Game of the Year. Considering the stakes, was that the worst “time out” ever taken?
We owe him so much.
It was Poitier himself who insisted on only taking black roles that were diginfied, so “burden” might be the wrong way to look at it. He was glad to do it.
No way!
Heh *nervously* (curse these greasy fingers!)
It was one of those things where I saw it on the screen and I was expecting the crowd to be like, ‘Holy shit, she did not, in a wizarding world, just throw Jews in there to run the fucking underground bank.’ And everybody was just like, ‘Wizards.’
Woa woa woa! So I think the 355 looks kinda... cool? Maybe the cast will elevate this. They are the selling point, and I am sold.
My immediate reaction to Clean is “Yea right! He wishes, lol.” The project seems narcissistic, but it falls into the kind of self-mythologizing I’d expect of Brody. So yea, I guess I’m game for this too- but in a totally different way.
Scream 4 works for me. In a series with sequels that have continuously tried to comment on itself, and the genre at large, while still maintaining its meta cleverness, I think the fourth movie is the one that actually does the best job of it. The time away from the franchise probably helped.
What’s with the dip in Season 3? That year was great!
Having just rewatched it, I agree about the Tyrells and Sand Snakes joining Dany. S6 ends with her setting sail, and we presume she’s got a lot of work to do. It’s exciting. In 7x01 she literally just arrived in Westeros, and its a monumental moment. But Highgarden is on the opposite end of the continent, and Dorne…
Celebs do this alot, when their work gets criticized. But even that is not the sort of remark I’d expect from Dinklage. He disappoints me
Hm. Imo the Wachowskis haven’t been good in forever, so I wasn’t expecting much from this se-boot/re-quel, of which I have been diametrically opposed, but I have family in it, so I had to watch. Without being too harsh, all I can say, is I wish I liked it more than I did. This interview is illuminating because I…
Wow, so I’m not the only one. I stopped watching at least twice, because... I just couldn’t. Finally barrelled through to the finish, but it got demoted to background noise while I did other things. It was a hard watch. But I thank them for putting this on HBO Max, where stopping is a mercy. I cannot imagine having to…
Yes. Worry not- They constantly show clips from the prior movies to keep us up to speed. (And I actually can’t believe that in 2021 I watched a movie that literally did this)
Maya would look so much cooler with the palm facepaint she’s known for. The MCU is getting lazy again about distinct character designs, especially on TV, where they don’t even try because everything has to be “grounded”. It’s all too basic. Even when they revealed Clint’s long -awaited costume, I couldn’t help but meh…
The owl was the funniest moment for sure (and maybe the season’s darkest beat?)
