Especially when they first came out, Prius buyers bought them for the same reason people bought Hummers: Image. The Civic Hybrid came out around the same time as the Prius and completely flopped. Granted it wasn’t as good a hybrid, but it also looked identical to a non-hybrid Civic, so it wasn’t very easily…

Guess not, but I think the rear end is hideous.
