I remember when these things came out. At first I thought they were stupid, but after a while, I came to appreciate them. I also like how car designers fit them into the design of the car. Now if people would just notice when their brake lights are out and fix them, it’d be nice.

I seriously f’ing hate cars where you can’t totally disable that crap. I wonder if my 2008 WRX’s stayed on even after I switched it off? Could explain why I couldn’t make the damn thing turn worth a damn on the autocross course. The front end kept wanting to wash out no matter what I did. Really made me long for the

This is why I have such complete and utter hatred for cops. There are more cops like this than not, if you ask me. Justice was not served IMO... what should have happened is the rider should have gotten a helluva lot more than $180k, and the cop should be out of job and up on charges.

I have. And I won. While you can say all you want that you can’t outrun the radio, the radio only works if there are other units out there to hear the call. On top of that, if you ever do run, the key is to get out of sight as quickly as possible... like within maybe five minutes tops. If you’re still out after that,

I say this a lot... gov’t out of control. That’s basically all this is. And it’s time to put a stop to it.

It’s gov’t making a cash grab is all. Gov’t out of control. Everywhere.

Then apparently Jeep’s own website (the build-it mode) is wrong. That’s good to know... the V6 is such a nice motor.

I assume the car was an automatic? If so, then I partly blame the transmission. How the heck anybody can control that kid of power with an automatic I dunno (beyond pussyfooting it all the time).

The Cressida was a sweet car. My parents had a 1982 “Datsun” Maxima wagon... in brown no less! However, it was an automatic. That too was a sweet car... they bought it new and kept it for nearly 15 years before my dad sold it and bought a Cherokee XJ.

For the record, the Grand Cherokee can’t be had with the 3.6 V6 and the Quadra-Lift suspension. To get it, you have to pick the HEMI or the Diesel. Go figure.

I owned one of these pieces of garbage. Not the King Cobra; mine was a 1978 V6 automatic. White with blue vinyl top. It was terrible. We bought it used around 1985 if I remember right. What a total POS. I timed 0-60 in about 16 seconds on my stopwatch. It got 12 mpg. It was awful in every single way. We couldn’t be

Yeah I don’t understand these things. Aside from the people who can afford them, and buy them to “look” impressive, I just don’t get it. I wouldn’t want one even if I could afford it. Like you said, it’s counter to the point of adventure.

That is a gorgeous car. The 2-door 3-series is sooooo nice looking. Call it what you will, but I _hate_ that BMW renamed the cars like they did. The 2-doors should be the odd number and the 4-doors should be the even number. And... can you get this thing in a stick??

Okay, you got me. Have never been a BMW fan for a variety of reasons, but this thing, at this price, yeah. If I had the money, I’d have my name on the waiting list at the local dealer.

I ran Blizzaks on my ‘86 Corvette through a really bad Nebraska winter and got by just fine. Fiberglass and aluminum == no rust either. And the looks I got from people were priceless, especially when I was getting around better than the FWD cars on normal tires!

Wagon + manual transmission. I want it! :)

One of the better looking Nissan products in a while. No manual transmission, so I’d never ever consider owning one.

It’s even uglier than the last one. And no, it’s not a real truck. It’s a car with a bed. But yeah, most people would be fine with one of these. Or a Subaru Outback. But at least the Outback is nice looking.

Damn, I missed it. I was going to ask who the asshole was who decided NOT to put a manual transmission in the CTS-V.

This has been done already... many years ago. A guy named Mike Mooney bought a new 1993 Camaro Z28 and built it up over a few years and broke the 200 mph barrier with it. He was a member of our f-body mailing list that, while it still exists, doesn’t get much use anymore.
