Somebody’s probably already said this, but at a glance I didn’t see it. The can’t pump your own gas thing also happens in Oregon.

I still hate Camrys though. They’re the ultimate me-too mobile for people with no sense of individuality. The one guy you quoted, though, who got it for a great price and noted it didn’t come with a CVT, made a good choice in that respect. I’d still never own one. Ever. Somebody get Toyota to start putting CVTs in the…
I can’t help but think that a great deal of the time, these guys are being perfectly safe, and it’s simple the PERCEPTION that it’s unsafe, just like lane splitting, or riding motorcycles in general. And so then the powers that be decide it needs to be illegal in order to “save us from ourselves.”
Couple of things. First, she should be banned from EVER having a CDL again, and the company that trained her should be up on criminal charges and potentially shut down.
I want one too!! And great writing.
Great pix and stuff! I actually had decided I was going to try to buy one of these in the next year or so... until I was reminded about the utterly horrible customer service I received from Honda back in 2003 over a Rincon ATV I had bought new.
The fact that the Toyota Prius still exists and people still buy them.
Yes, the 4WD version could be had in manual or automatic. The front-drive model was automatic only. The 4WD version had the air suspension, the other did not. Oh and the manual 4WD version had a locking center differential. I’m not sure if the automatic 4WD version did though.
I never cared for the old show. I found it stupid and insulting. But I really like Chris Harris. If he gets the job, I may have to start watching.
I owned a 1988 Subaru XT6... the 6-cylinder variant. 4WD, 5-speed manual. FUN car.
People who buy Priuses aren’t buying a car. They’re buying an appliance and a “symbol” of their political affiliation. I don’t consider these to be car people.
I very much look forward to following your progress on this! I need a project but don’t have the time or money for one, so I will live vicariously through yours. :)
Yawn. This car is already long in the tooth and it’s not even out yet.
BMW has such a bad reputation for quality and reliability already, that anything like that is going to bring out the haters. Yamaha on the other hand, rarely has a major issue like this.
I feel for people waiting. I personally wouldn’t own one of these diesels. What idiot designed this motor with a timing belt rather than a timing chain? I read that this needs belt changes every 100k just like any other interference engine. How many people will actually do this? Few, I bet. It’s what kills most older…
As an ex-USAF enlisted person, I can tell you... enlisted people are second class citizens. We’re the peons. It’s the officers that get all the perks. I’m sure the officers are gonna be up in arms over this, but I’m glad to see them actually allowing lowly enlisted people to do more than basic work.
Just drop an LS motor into it and go. (ducking) :-p
I want one, but I’m hesitant because of how you have to reset all the modes every time you turn it off. That’ll get old VERY fast. Maybe I’ll wait a year or two and see if they fix that.
You’re not gonna peek inside the new motor first? I’d be tempted to do a basic R&R of it just to save the trouble of pulling it a second time.
Coal-rollers are just like drag racers... it’s another form of dick-waving.
