I dunno.. I think Nissan should have loaned you a right-hand-drive GT-R so the comparison could have been more accurate. :-p

Autocross it!!

I liked the idea because of the steps built into the side, so you could more easily reach things in the bed. This is why there are “box boards” (running boards) for trucks now, that extend past the cab back to the rear wheel.

Now if GM would only follow suit and make the next Camaro ZL1 the same way. But alas, they won’t. It’ll get the 8-sp auto and they’ll spend all their time pushing that version on car magazines to review, as if they WANT to kill the manual.

I have a pathetic 29” inseam (at 5’8). So I had to lower my DR650 2-1/2” and even then I’m on my super tippy toes at a stop... but that’s okay because I’m used to it, having owned the bike since 2010.

So we have the truck cruising right along like nothing is unusual, and the worst part are the cars following it. This proves how little attention people actually pay to their surroundings while driving. You would think the cars might realize what’s about to happen. Instead, the truck hits the bridge, explodes, and

I am 100% opposed to this. Sure, what they claim to be using them for is a good thing, but how long until they start using them to genuinely monitor people’s comings and goings? And likely doing so without telling anybody that that’s what is happening? It’s the potential for abuse, and the extreme likelihood that that

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that maybe you develop some of your own diagnostic and mechanical skills so you can spend a lot less money paying dealers to work on that thing. Or at the very least, find a local, small-town mechanic that probably knows more than the dealer, and will charge less.

I’ve never owned a Ducati, but if they do this, I’ll never own a Diavel.. a bike I used to really like. But if they turn it into a cruiser, no freakin’ way. I do like the Scrambler, but honestly, if they’re going to stoop so low as to reach out to the ultimate poser crowd, I’m not sure I want to own anything of theirs.

Let’s also remember that many of the people who are bemoaning the increase in deaths are likely the ones who desperately want to bring back the 55 NMSL. They were last heard back around 2008 when gas prices jumped up, and we will likely hear from them again soon.

I’ve become a very anti-Toyota fan over the years, but I won’t go into that. The Tacoma is the exception. I’ve always liked it. I’d love to have an older one... the small ones, 4x4, 4-cyl, 5sp. Small enough to go off-road, just big enough to carry a motorcycle and some camping gear in the bed.

The 4-cyl is around for people who will buy the stripper base 2wd version and want it as cheap as possible. They won’t care one iota about power, only that it’s cheap. I used to know a guy like that, and his net worth is probably more than everybody commenting in this thread combined.

The Medlin mailbox was there in Spring of 2014. I was in Mesquite, NV for a motorcycle event, and on the drive back, I went up 275 and stopped by it and took photos.

I’ve been out there a few times. We did an ATV trip with friends up in the mountains to the east of Hwy 275, and on the way back to the trucks in the dark, we got to see the hovering, rotating lights above the Groom Range in the distance. Was quite... intriguing.

I got to ride one (an RT-S) a few weeks ago. I didn’t care for it. It was neat for about five minutes, then got really, really boring. I called it a Really Big Quad, but the snowmobile comparison is apt, as long as you point out that you’re talking about Flatlander snowmobiles, NOT mountain sleds like I’m used to.

I’ve read quite a few trip reports from people who ride motorcycles all the way to Ushuaia. Well, minus the part where they have to ship their bike (and themselves) around the exclusion zone... I forget what it’s actually called, but as I recall, it’s the huge undeveloped area between Panama and South America proper.

I spec’d mine at $55k... white with blue stripes, track package, basic stereo, that sort of thing. But I could never in good conscious own a Ford... so I’ll wait for the next ZL-1 and not buy it either. ;)

Great article, but it blew my interest as soon as I read the “you must be level 34” part. That won’t be happening for me; I’m at level 32 and likely will be stuck there. I don’t know enough people to play any of the higher level stuff to get the better armor or Ehtheric f’ing Light BS to ascend my other armor.

Automatic. That says it all for me. No manual == no sale.
