There’s a guy locally selling a very nice condition red ‘93 Maxima SE 5sp with 164k miles. He wants $2800 for it, which is a bit high. Edmunds says $1200 private party or $2200 dealer retail. I’d buy it right now for $1200-1500 but I know there’s no point in even contacting him for that number. Even though I hate the

And we wonder why car dealerships are so opposed to Tesla operating in their state. They see the writing on the wall... they’re obsolete and their way of life treating people like crap is nearly over.

How do we know the camaro driver was drunk?

The polite thing to do is to stay out of people’s way. There’s a saying... lead, follow, or get out of the way. The camaro was for all intents and purposes, “leading” and the truck was in the way. He could have gotten out of the way or followed. But instead he had to be an ass.

Over here, the “fast” lane is the normal travel lane because nobody wants to have to THINK anymore, i.e. move lane to lane to actually pass. And so much time has been spent “conditioning” people think that anybody who wants to go faster than you is a maniac, they end up acting like the asshole in the work truck.

For those of us who actually know how to drive, ESC is dangerous. My ex-wife’s Forester had it, and I left it on one day in the snow. I came home, full intending to “drift” slowly into the driveway. Instead, the car just went straight. It was f’ing annoying. I hate ESC and I wish they would just teach people to drive

While I agree the Camaro was an ass, the guy in the work van is every bit as responsible for this as the Camaro driver. Doing what that work van guy did should have at the very least cost him his job, and likely landed his ass in jail.

A friend of mine does this, but he tells people he’s flipping the car, rather than claiming to be the original owner. He has those “I but junk cars” signs around town, and ends up with a couple of good deals a month from them. He recently paid $120 for a nice Olds Aurora. $200 in parts a day’s work later, he sold it

Ordinarily I would completely agree with you; but as a journalist, you don’t deserve the hatred from anybody just because you drove one. Now, if you bought one, that’d be different. :)

I have one of those Garmin Dash Cams in my truck; but I bought the one without the GPS, so it doesn’t record speed. Figured the last thing I need is for police or some lawyer trying to use that against me for whatever reason. Frankly I’d prefer these things record encrypted so only the owner can access the video, and

Yeah we all agree that filtering not being there is a bummer. It wasn’t amended to not be there; it simply never was. It’s just flat out missing. BUT, we’re all so glad it’s made it this far, that we’ll take what we can get. Let’s get it passed, and then we’ll come back next year to amend it to make it proper.

It’s technically illegal for a used car sale to be taxed anyway. Just nobody has ever fought it. It’s double taxation. It was already taxed when new; it shouldn’t be taxed again.

At first I was like, yeah, Triumph makes a Scrambler. WTF? Why aren’t they suing? And I ignored it because it looked like an old bike. Turns out a friend is getting one, and I’ve been reading these reviews (albeit late) now I want one. Too bad I don’t have $8500 for one.

First problem IS IT’S A FUCKING AUTOMATIC. Therefore it’s completely and totally disqualified by a lot of us. Then there are the idiotic flames and graphics. And the stupid wheels. And the lame color. And so much else.

This BS about trying to prevent people from working on their own cars has to stop. I don’t care if most people don’t. Some of us do, and I suspect we’ll continue to do it no matter what. It would be illegal for a cop to pull you over and demand to plug into your ALDL port (without a warrant).

The only one I’d get would be TDI, 6sp manual and AWD. Probably get mine in white. If cloth means plaid, then I’d get leather, which I’m not a huge fan of, but it’s better than plaid (IMO). But as I recall, AWD isn’t showing as an option yet.

The only real eyesore I see in those photos is in #2 — the silver Prius.

IMO, the US needs to jump on this technology. Every major US city should be connected by one of these. Basically do away with major airline traffic over the continental US. Leave air travel for overseas only, minus smaller commuter and private flying (including smaller business jets).

Dick move or not, I just don’t see how this could have done any appreciable damage to the car. Maybe a good polish/buff job is all it needs. If not, then maybe these cars are a bit more fragile than they oughta be.

My dad had the “Scirocco with Down Syndrome” — the Dasher. With apologies to those with Down Syndrome. :)
