Wow, I remember when the Taurus was billed as an affordable family sedan.

Curious.. did they insist you NOT mention that the steering wheel is off-center from the driver’s seat? That’s the #1 reason I wouldn’t buy one of these things, or any of GM’s current trucks or SUVs. There’s simply no excuse for an oversight like this. I don’t care if you get used to it; it’s just another example of

I'm sorry but these laws are utter BS. Yet more ways to not force the guilty to take responsibility for their own actions. These laws need to change. NOW.

“My hat was in that car.”

My parents had an early 70’s Buick Estate Wagon with the big block motor because we towed a 28’ Avion travel trailer with it. It also had the fancy electric tailgate, which I thought was so cool because it retracted into the floor and became pretty much invisible. Ours was a sort of tan metallic with an off-white

If only more people actually understood this, there would be fewer Priuses on the road.

Until the liberal mindset is overcome, this problem will continue everywhere. That mindset is that it’s always somebody else’s fault. In truth, it’s both cars AND pedestrians who are at fault here. Nobody wants to take responsibility for anything. Hit a ped? Car says it was ped’s fault. Ped says it was car’s fault.

Congrats on the new car! Glad to see you got a real transmission too! :)

Hm. My 2005 RAM 3500, which I've owned since 2007, is 100% rust free. And four of those years have been spent in rainy, wet OREGON.

It's a nice truck. I'd love to have it. Bummer it'll get destroyed.

The thing that bugs me out of this sort of thing is that an ‘open speed area’ does not mean go drive flat out. Note the sign says, “drive to conditions,” which means REASONABLE AND PRUDENT. Well, 217 mph isn’t exactly reasonable and prudent.. especially as many pointed out, the tendency for critters to be on the road.

And this is why dealers are fighting Tesla tooth and nail. They know they will be obsoleted and won’t get to play their power-tripping games anymore.

If that stuff was over here, the press and the liberals would be having a hayday going on about “people who have too much money” and how it’s a bad example and blah blah blah social justice BS etc.

While I don't necessarily blame this on racism, I think cops really do think they're above the law. They have been trained, either directly or indirectly, to look down on the rest of us. I know for a fact that cops are taught to lie to get convictions, on the grounds that, "well, odds are good he probably did

I don't really have any horror stories, just tales of idiot dealers from myself and friends. A Dodge dealer in Concord, CA wanted to refuse to work on my diesel RAM because I had modified the wastegate. I informed them about the Magnussen-Moss Warranty Act and to STFU. So they did. Surprisingly. And as I recall,

You write great stuff, Doug! I love it.

I can buy an ex cop car in the same (or better) condition pretty much daily for around $2500. So yeah, he’s full of it.

I wonder how it’d do at autocrossing...

Everybody pretty much covered it all, but I had a gf years ago who had so many problems... it was nuts. When we were together in a car, she had to have it on Recirculate at all times because she had allergies to the outside air. And she refused to use seat heaters (she insisted they made her sick). And she wanted to

I’d like to add a couple motorcycle-specific ones and one for cars...
