The point of the chip is to stop the card from being cloned, not to stop someone from stealing & using your card, thats what the pin is for.
Most banks already offer this functionality (to setup recurring payments, or to schedule payments for future dates).
I think its just because you wouldn’t even consider it - when I’m buying my own flights I would never even think about checking first-class tickets. But honestly, its pretty rare for this to happen and good luck to anyone else finding a 1st fare for less than economy.
