Small detail, but I like the revelation that Meyers uses the segment to catch up on paperwork.

She has a certain relentless optimism to her delivery.

I love Amber Ruffin’s sketches. The CVS part of the bit was scorching.

This is what I needed this morning.

Meyers already hit the high note on this, when talking about Trump’s attempt to convince us he meant to say “wouldn’t.” “That’s like Papa John saying he meant to say ‘whitey.’”

I thought that was one of Kendrick Lamar’s rejected song titles.

I hope he breaks the fourth wall before each kill.

Looking forward to finally seeing Mother!. Not too let down by the otherwise slim pickings, since I just started rewatching Orphan Black (never finished it the first time) and that’ll take up a good portion of the month.

I’m really hoping Jack Ryan will be worth watching, but man, it’s going to be hard to watch Jim Halpert shoot people.

Good point. It doesn’t make sense even for this show. Why did Pirsilla even think to call the mom? The mom hasn’t been involved in the show except for one other scene. It felt like the writers wanted an impactful “screw you Shades” moment but it was mean spirited. No one loved Che besides Shades and his mom, now his

Yeah, I definitely predicted this (still great though). For a moment (back before the film even premiered) I was actually thinking they’d go super dark and dust Cassie. Then Strange would show up via time travel and tell a grieving Lang that there was still a chance to save Cassie, but he needed Scott’s help. And

I think it makes sense if you view it on a metaphorical level. Bushmaster is Luke’s anger - he’s way powerful, yeah, but he’s burning himself out (both emotionally and literally because of the nightshade). In the early episodes, when Luke is still refusing to confront his anger, it’s more powerful than he is - hence

Anyone want to talk about the Harlem’s Paradise paintings? It’s one of the most interesting things for me and I’d love some takes on it from other people. For me the painting hanging in Harlem’s Paradise represents the reign of the person in charge, how they see themselves, and how they want others to see them

Luke is supposed to Hate (capital letter Hate) Mariah, but he keeps protecting her from Bushmaster

So is the Kingpin not as big of a deal in the NY crime world of Luke Cage? I feel like a missed moment would have been a quick reference to Kingpin from someone.

If they set things up right the next Defenders should really be a Kingpin story. Luke as an opposing “good guy Kingpin” is a great idea, and the others would fit into that kind of story nicely.

“I’ve made a huge mistake.”

Tilda is the absolute worst! The Harlem PD is also pretty awful, why would that lead detective woman let Che’s mom listen in to Shades’ confession? That old lady didn’t need to hear that, she and Shades are already at their lowest points, it was just mean. Also, I know there are more than 3 lawyers in New York,

The subtitle thing with the Jamaican patois was honestly my biggest issue with this season of Luke Cage

I agree with you, if Danny had come around after Luke nearly killed Cockroach and drove Claire away it would have made more sense. Danny could have helped him resolve his anger, balance himself, and most importantly, be somebody that Luke can hit without worrying about almost killing him. Now it has Luke wondering
