This is preposterous! How can Star Wars deceive us like this?! If the person under the helmet isn’t the same person voicing the lines and popularly understood as playing the character then they are cheating us!

For a lot of people it’s both easier and better to pretend that vegetables pick themselves and latinos live from handouts. Even senators (cough cough LA Sen. John Kennedy cough cough) seem to think like that.
Guest worker visas — like H1B — are not quite slavery, but they are extremely precarious and significantly advantage the employer over both domestic workers, and workers who are employed on these visas. As someone who was able to get a green card through marriage rather than trying to stay in the US on a non-immigrant…
Meta has a lot of H1Bs and I suspect many of them have been cut too. It is way more stresful for them because now they have like 60 days to find a new job or GTFO.
I hate to be the one to tell you, but nearly all currency has no actual value. The value is whatever we all agree it has through a complex system of determination that gets sillier the more you dig into it. The only real difference with crypto is that it doesn’t have the backing of a government guaranteeing it to be…
If you send $600k to a friend based on a single phone call, you can either afford to lose the money or you have much greater problems than AI.
A deepfake scam in China has increased fears that artificial intelligence will allow hackers to easily obtain financial information.
Ever since this term was introduced, it has been used by the incompetent and rude to dismiss legitimate criticism of their shortcomings. That’s not to say there are not real examples — including many of the famous online videos — but sometimes you really do need to speak with a manager.
Yeah, it’s not bigotry if it’s aimed at a race or gender we don’t like. Right? White women can’t be part of a diversity conversation. It’s ok to paint a group of people with a derogatory label so long as we agree that we don’t like that group. These white women should just be quiet and know their place. Right…
Did anyone else notice that Barry is cleanshaven once the bag is taken off of his head when in Jim’s garage? I wonder if that scene is actually a flashback. Maybe Jim “reprogrammed” Barry to be a good Christian like he reprogrammed the reporter to be German. Or maybe all the “flash forward” stuff is just some sort of…
When the barista joined them— and the way Fuches talked about her and her daughter at dinner— I assumed she’d been writing him on the inside, something like that. (Sort of a Selma / Sideshow Bob situation, if you will.)
Don’t like what's being said about a topic? Keep trying different speakers until you find the one you like.
Barry’s last name is Berkman, not Blank.
That was my point when people complained about season one. A faithful adaptation is a whole bunch of middle aged guys sitting around and talking a lot about things happening elsewhere. There is almost no action in the whole series.
Same. And, if I’m honest, a faithful adaptation would be pretty much unwatchable.
I was just thinking that the description for Season 2 has a lot wrong if this is a faithful adaptation of Foundation.
Is it fair to call it an “adaptation” when has essentially nothing to do with the books beyond the premise? I actually liked season 1, but someone reading the books for the first time after watching the show would be very confused.
Self-checkout would be the place I’d feel the least guilty at for not tipping.
I feel zero remorse or guilt when I press the No Tip option on digital pay systems. I will tip when I want to, I do not need a prompt/notification asking if I want to tip. If I’m given great service, I tip, plain and simple. Crappy service? Crappy Tip. Be a dick to me, no tip.
I just ignore it. Taxi, yes, restaurants, yes, anything else is no with no guilty feeling.
