I felt they really put some effort into X/Y. Especially after B/W didn’t really do anything. X/Y went full 3D, finally had a decent online system and had some fun customization and a decent story (for this franchise anyway). Mega evolutions were about giving new life to old pokemon. Alola formes are doing that now by taking that bs delta pokemon schtick from the fangames.

Agreed. I was initially hesitant about Sun and Moon. Some of the new designs may be abit meh, but the new Vulpix/Ninetails, post elite-4 stuff, the totally awesome Z-moves, have totally sold me. Now let me go change my Discord profile pic to the adorable Minior core....
